Autumn $1.00 Sale!

Buy One Of These Bottles & Get the 2nd Bottle, Same Brand for $1.00

  • 2009 Peter Michael, Sauvignon Blanc, L'Apres Midi, Sonoma County, 93 pts., Wine Spectator; $51.00: "Aromatic, complex and ultimately refreshing, this white delivers details of clove, mineral, tangerine zest, lemon curd and mango that weave together a sophisticated profile of flavors. A terrific cleansing acidity clarifies the flavors, finishing with a juicy punch. Drink now through 2014. 2,150 cases made." Get the 2nd bottle for $1.00
  • 2008 Freeman, Pinot Noir, Sonoma Coast, 91 pts., Wine Spectator; $49.00: "The nose is dominated by spicy, slow-ripening Pinot Noir aromas, with hints of violets and roses. Though somewhat similar on the palate to our '08 Russian River Valley bottling, the Sonoma Coast offers higher acidity and firmer tannins." Get the 2nd bottle for $1.00
  • 2007 Ken Wright Cellars, Pinot Noir, Meredith Mitchell Vineyard, Willamette Valley; $60.00: "The 2007 Pinot Noir Meredith Mitchell Vineyard reveals herbal notes in its aromatics, less generosity on the palate, and a slightly compact finish. All things considered, it appears that Wright performed optimally in this challenging vintage with what nature provided." Get the 2nd bottle for $1.00
  • 2006 Rusden Stockade, Shiraz, 92 pts., Parker; $19.00: The 2006 Shiraz "Stockade" was aged in seasoned French oak. It displays a fragrant bouquet of spice box, pepper, violets and blueberry. This is followed by a medium bodied with wine with layers of spicy blue fruit flavors, excellent concentration and balance, soft tannins and a long finish. Get the 2nd bottle for $1.00
  • 2005 John Duval, Shiraz, Eligo, Barossa Valley, 96 pts., Wine Enthusiast; $95.00: "Underneath a slightly smoky, toasty exterior lies an explosion of cherry, raspberry and black cherry fruit that's wonderfully pure without being simple. The texture is creamy and lush without being unstructured or jammy, while the finish goes on and on." Get the 2nd bottle for $1.00

This Week's Village Wine Cellar Features! Duckhorn Vineyards
  •  2010 Decoy, Sauvignon Blanc, Napa Valley; $19.00: This wine was fermented exclusively in stainless steel to achieve a lively expression of Sauvignon Blanc, highlighting grapefruit, kiwi, kaffir lime, lemon zest and fresh-cut grass aromas. The palate is bright and balanced, and the flavors echo the aromas, with additional notes of pineapple, gooseberry and minerals leading to a full, refreshing finish.
  • 2010 Decoy, Chardonnay, Sonoma County; $19.00: Produced by Migration Winemaker Neil Bernardi-a cool-climate Chardonnay specialist-Decoy Chardonnay explores the diversity of the Sonoma County winegrowing region, while allowing Neil greater flexibility during the blending process.
  • 2009 Decoy, Pinot Noir, Anderson Valley; $22.00: "A touch rustic, offering intense cedary oak flavors wrapped around ripe blackberry and mineral notes. Full-bodied, ending with a coarse edge to the tannins and some heat. Best from 2012 through 2018. 10,130 cases made."
  • 2009 Decoy, Red Wine, Napa Valley; $25.00: The 2009 vintage has yielded a broad and inviting expression of our Decoy Red Wine, with classic Napa Valley fruit notes and a silky, mouthcoating mid-palate. The aromas spotlight layers of mocha, mulberry and cassis with a subtle, yet sophisticated hint of cigar box. On the palate, this wine is soft and appealing with abundant flavors of blackcurrant, plum & hazelnut.
2009 Decoy, Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley; $25.00: This is the second label from Duckhorn, crafted to be enjoyed upon release, but it's no fake. It has intense Cabernet character, with aromas of currants, blackberries, tobacco, cedar and mint that carry over to the rich, almond and caramel-inflected palate. There's a touch of savory herbs on the finish that acts as a counterpoint to the sweet dark fruit and ripe tannins.
  • 2007 Duckhorn, Merlot, Napa Valley, 95 pts., Wine Review Online; $60.00: "Our Napa Valley Merlot is a complex and ageable expression of the varietal, highlighting the rich diversity of the Napa Valley appellation. A product of the exceptional 2007 growing season, this wine's hearty tannins and balanced acidity provide a textural framework for an enticing array of aromas and flavors that begin with notes of bright red cherry, plum, tobacco, vanilla and anise. On the palate, layers of fig, red currant, almond, cedar and sweet spice are revealed, along with a subtle doughiness that lends to an appealing mouthfeel. The final wine has been blended with Cabernet Sauvignon and a touch of Petit Verdot to add nuance and depth."
  • 2007 Duckhorn, Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley, 90 pts., Wine Spectator; $70.00: "Firm, rich, intense and layered, with loamy earth and herb-laced currant, blackberry, mineral and cedar flavors. Full-bodied, tight and focused, an impressive young wine that needs aeration. Drink now through 2021."
  • 2007 Duckhorn, Discussion, Red Wine, Napa Valley, 93 pts., Wine Spectator; $120.00: "Our 2007 vintage of The Discussion is the product of one of the finest growing seasons in memory. As with many of the greatest wines in the 35-year history of Duckhorn Vineyards, this vintage of The Discussion celebrates the timeless union of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot to achieve a wine that is rich, complex and elegantly harmonious. Refined aromas of mulberry, hazelnut, leather, cedar, tobacco and sweet spices give way to deep rich flavors of blueberry, black plum, cassis, clove and chocolate. Given time to breathe, these flavors evolve in the glass gaining additional depth and complexity, while developing warm, earthy tones and hints of toasted coconut."

Village Wine Cellar - Where we keep our entire store at a constant 64 degrees

From Parker's Wine Buyers Guide No 7 by Robert M. Parker, Jr.  is this quote from the introduction, How to Store Wine, page 9:

"If you can somehow get the temperature down to 65 degrees Farenheight or below, you will never have to worry about the condition of your wines."

Here at the Village Wine Cellar we proudly keep  we proudly keep our ENTIRE store a constant "64 degrees temperature controlled," 365 days a year, hence Village Wine Cellar.

This separates our store from all others as temperature is vital to the keeping wine from being spoiled.  Proper storage is crucial to keeping the wine's integrity and quality from being compromised.  As you are aware,  all too often, someone has purchased a bottle of wine elsewhere only to find that their purchase is ruined due to the store temperature was too warm.  This will never happen at Village Wine Cellar.
