 Summer $1.00 Sale!
Buy One Of These Bottles & Get the 2nd Bottle, Same Brand for $1.00
- 2006 Lazy Creek Vineyards, Gewurztraminer, Anderson Valley; $24.00: Rose petal, lychee nut and delicate perfume aromas, lively ruby red grapefruit and brown spice flavors are broad and full on the palate. Completely dry with a hint of minerality, this full-bodied, Alsatian-style wine has a lush, velvety texture with a clean finish. Get the 2nd bottle for $1.00!
- 2008 Tensley, Grenache, Blanc/Roussanne, Camp 4 Vineyard, Santa Barbara; $27.50: In blending the Roussanne and Grenache Blanc for our Campy 4 Blanc, the final percentages are based on taste, not formula. Rich and viscous, this wine is a big mouthful of almonds, honey, and cane sugar with a touch of fruit and minerals. If you like big, bold wines this one's for you. Drink this Roussanne now or age it another 3 to 4 years. Get the 2nd bottle for $1.00!
- 2008 Pride Mountain, Viognier, Sonoma County, 91 pts., Connoisseur's Guide; $50.00: "We admit to liking Viognier that is sure of itself, and this downright dramatic, well-ripened working walks with the swagger of complete confidence. Its flashy aromas of ripe peaches, honey and very sweet oak are followed by deep, very generous flavors of a similar stripe, and, if slightly oily and long on extract, the wine surprises by being remarkably bright and well balanced as well. Its noticeable heat will be made moot by service with rich dishes like Lobster Newburg." Get the 2nd bottle for $1.00!
- 2008 Chateau Mont-Redon, Chateauneuf du-Pape, BLANC, Southern Rhone, 90 pts., Tanzer; $35.00: Powerful, heady, deep and full of harmony. The tannins are very qualitative, they are silky and delicate, giving an impression of volume and length in the mouth. The intensity of the colors is of an excellent level and can be compared to this of the previous years. Get the 2nd bottle for $1.00!
- 2004 Hugel, Riesling, Alsace, Jubilee, 93 pts., Wine Spectator; Was $55.00, Now $44.00: Made in exceptional vintages only, following severe selection during all the stages of its productions, this very fine wine possesses remarkable finesse and elegance. At its best after three to five years, it often develops distinctive "mineral" hints which further underline its exceptional complexity. It reveals its true character when served with a noble fish dish, or shellfish, in a cream or butter sauce. Get the 2nd bottle for $1.00!
All sales final. No returns or exchanges. Offer good July 25th - July 31st. Offer good while supplies last. Prices are subject to change without notice.

All American Summer Reds
- 2008 Columbia Crest, Merlot, Horse Heaven Hills, H3, 90 pts., Wine Spectator; $15.00: The H3 Merlot opens with aromas of raspberries, black pepper and earthy tones which lead to flavors of chocolate covered cherries and plum preserves on the silky smooth palate. The flavors and aromas cumulate in to an intense - yet elegant - finish
- 2008 Columbia Crest, Cabernet Sauvignon, Horse Heaven Hills, H3; $15.00: This intense, fruit-forward Cabernet Sauvignon delivers aromas of cherries and huckleberry jam, with a perfect balance of earthy tannins, great focus in the mid-palate and a soft, smooth cocoa finish.
- 2007 St. Francis, Zinfandel, Old Vines, Sonoma County; $22.00: This distinct "old world style" Zinfandel displays deep aromas of ripe black cherries and boysenberries laced with licorice, shadowed by spicy toasted oak notes that carry into a long luscious finish.
- 2008 Girard Zinfandel, Old Vine, Napa Valley, 92 pts., Connoisseur's Guide; $25.00: "Our 2008 vintage Old Vine Zinfandel is a lush, jammy, medium-bodied wine with silky, well-integrated tannins and balanced acidity. The aroma/flavor profile includes: black cherry, red plum and pumpkin pie spices. The blend is 85% Zinfandel, 9% Petite Sirah, 4% Mourvedre and 2% Syrah."
- 2008 Sebastiani, Zinfandel, Dry Creek Valley, 91 pts., The Tasting Panel; $25.00: Bright, cran-rasberry and crushed black pepper aromas; indicative of non-raisiny Dry Creek Zinfandels with notes of white chocolate and espresso from the oak aging.
- 2009 Rombauer, Zinfandel, California; $31.50: Rombauer may be best known for their buttery, rich Chardonnay, but those who follow the winery know that they also make some great Zins. The 2009 California bottling has everything you'd expect from a Rombauer wine--jammy, rich fruit and a creamy texture. There's a healthy dose of peppery spice, too, which would make the wine a perfect complement to steak au poivre.
- 2009 Seghesio Family, Zinfandel Home Ranch, Alexander Valley; $39.00: "Our 2009 Home Ranch Zinfandel displays generous helpings of blackberry, raspberry and other brambly fruit characteristic of the warm Alexander Valley climate. On the palate, these components are threaded together seamlessly with subtle hints of oak, briary acidity and the soft, ripe fruit tannins that will come to embody the 2009 vintage."
- 2007 Erna Schein, Red Blend, Everything But The Kitchen Sink, Napa Valley; $47.00: This is a unique blend: 58% Petite Sirah, 31% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Syrah, 3% Petit Verdot & 2% Cabernet Franc. Smoke and hints of tar and tobacco, evolving into currant, cherry and violet. Round, integrated tannins linger through the finish.

Village Wine Cellar - Where we keep our entire store at a constant 64 degrees From Parker's Wine Buyers Guide No 7 by Robert M. Parker, Jr. is this quote from the introduction, How to Store Wine, page 9:
"If you can somehow get the temperature down to 65 degrees Farenheight or below, you will never have to worry about the condition of your wines."
Here at the Village Wine Cellar we proudly keep we proudly keep our ENTIRE store a constant "64 degrees temperature controlled," 365 days a year, hence Village Wine Cellar. This separates our store from all others as temperature is vital to the keeping wine from being spoiled. Proper storage is crucial to keeping the wine's integrity and quality from being compromised. As you are aware, all too often, someone has purchased a bottle of wine elsewhere only to find that their purchase is ruined due to the store temperature was too warm. This will never happen at Village Wine Cellar. |
