- 2008 Craggy Range, Sauvignon Blanc, Te Muna Road, Marlborough, 93 pts., Wine & Spirits; $26.00: "The storms that hit Marlborough in April 2008 headed off to sea, missing Martinborough. So winemaker Adrian Baker says there was no rain pressure during harvest at Craggy Range, where the 2008 ripened to rich passion fruit flavors. Baker allowed a third of the wine to ferment with indigenous yeast, and fermented a small portion (12 percent) in barrel. The result is a potent, generous sauvignon with lasting spice and saturated fruit flavor. Decant it for crab." Get the 2nd bottle for $1.00!

Village Wine Cellar Features!
Summer Reds from Italy
- 2008 Petra Zingari, Proprietary Red Blend, Tuscany, 90 pts., Parker; $15.00: "The 2008 Zingari is a blend of equal parts Sangiovese, Merlot, Syrah and Petit Verdot aged entirely in stainless steel. It is an absolutely fabulous entry-level red from Maremma. Smoke, underbrush, licorice and truffles add complexity to the generous, dark fruit. Medium in body yet wonderfully intense, the Zingari impresses for its sheer richness and density. There is enough freshness for the Zingari to drink well for a number of years." Anticipated maturity: 2010-2014.
- 2007 Castello Banfi, Chianti Classico, Riserva, Tuscany; $20.00: Deep ruby in color. Rich bouquet of cherries, plums, and iris. Deep cherry and leather flavors with subtle wood notes. Supple tannins, good acidity, and a lingering finish.

Best after 2012. 1,085 cases made."
- 2009 Bruno Giacosa, Dolcetto d'Alba, DOC, Piedmonte; $33.00: Ruby red colour with violet reflections. Winey and fragrant bouquet. Dry and full flavour with a pleasing bitterish aftertaste typical of the Dolcetto.
- 2008 Bruno Giacosa, Barbera d'Alba, DOC, Piedmonte; $48.00: Giacosa is an ultra-traditionalist, who until recently produced most of his Barolos and Barbarescos from purchased fruit. His track record is long, marked by super-concentrated, wonderfully aromatic wines with uncompromising structure and impressive longevity. They are among the most sought-after wines of Italy. In the best vintages, he bottles some wines as riserva, with a deep Burgundy-colored label. Giacosa also makes intensely flavored, highly scented, classically dry Arneis, with notes of fruit, sage and acacia blossom and excellent vinosity-perhaps the most serious example of this variety produced in Piedmont.
- 2006 Feudi di San Gregorio, Rubrato Aglianico, Campania; $17.00: Deep ruby red color. Cherries and intriguing aromas of mild spices on the nose. Bright and well rounded at the same time on the palate; baked cherry and plum flavors with hints of cinnamon and vanilla. Excellent balance between the supporting acidity and soft tannins. Full bodied finish with delightful hints of cocoa.
- 2007 Masi, Campofiorin, Rosso del Veronese, IGT, Verona; $17.00: Deep ruby red color. Cherries and intriguing aromas of mild spices on the nose. Full bodied finish with delightful hints of cocoa.
- 2009 Masi, Bonacosta, Valpolicella Classico, DOC, Verona; $17.00: The Bonacosta 2009 is a red wine, made by Masi. Its origin is Valpolicella in Valpolicella, Veneto, Italy. It is made from a Corvina blend. It is produced from the 2009 harvest.

Village Wine Cellar - Where we keep our entire store at a constant 64 degrees From Parker's Wine Buyers Guide No 7 by Robert M. Parker, Jr. is this quote from the introduction, How to Store Wine, page 9:
"If you can somehow get the temperature down to 65 degrees Farenheight or below, you will never have to worry about the condition of your wines."
Here at the Village Wine Cellar we proudly keep we proudly keep our ENTIRE store a constant "64 degrees temperature controlled," 365 days a year, hence Village Wine Cellar. This separates our store from all others as temperature is vital to the keeping wine from being spoiled. Proper storage is crucial to keeping the wine's integrity and quality from being compromised. As you are aware, all too often, someone has purchased a bottle of wine elsewhere only to find that their purchase is ruined due to the store temperature was too warm. This will never happen at Village Wine Cellar. |
