 Summer $1.00 Sale!
Buy One Of These Bottles & Get the 2nd Bottle, Same Brand for $1.00
- 2007 Freeman Chardonnay, Ryo-fu, Russian River Valley, 92 pts., Parker; $49.00: Wonderfully ripe tropical fruit scents dominate the nose with just a hint of toast, which is a testament to the strength of the 2007 fruit. The full palate strikes a seamless balance between rich, ripe fruit and more subtle, stone flavors. Although the '07 Ryo-fu will evolve and become more complex with a few years of bottle age, there is no need to wait-it is already drinking beautifully. Get the 2nd bottle for $1.00!
- 2007 R Wines, Boarding Pass, Shiraz, South Australia, 91 pts., Parker; $19.00: 91 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2007 Boarding Pass Shiraz contains 5% Viognier which provides a floral lift to its Cote-Rotie-like bouquet of bacon, smoked meat, and blueberry. Seamless, complex, and layered on the palate, it is way too good to sell for $18." (12/09). Get the 2nd bottle for $1.00!
- 2005 La Clotte, Red Bordeaux Blend, St. Emilion, 93 pts., Parker; $59.00: "One of the sexiest, most hedonistic wines of the vintage, La Clotte's 2005 (fewer than 1,400 cases produced from this 10-acre vineyard) is a blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. An exquisite perfume of underbrush, charcoal, kirsch, spice box, chocolate, and espresso soars from the glass of this full-bodied claret. With low acidity for the vintage, sweet tannin, and a fleshy, multilayered mouthfeel, this decadent St.-Emilion should last longer than its precocious showing in March suggests." Anticipated maturity: 2010-2025. Get the 2nd bottle for $1.00!
- 2006 Merryvale, Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley, 90 pts., Wine Enthusiast; $59.00: "Our 2007 Napa Cabernet is very dark red in color with aromas of currents, black cherry, violets, and cedar along with vanilla and toasty oak. The mouthfeel is generous with fine tannins and a long finish." Get the 2nd bottle for $1.00!
- 2005 Zenato, Amarone della Valpolicella Classico, Veneto, 90 pts., Wine Spectator; $69.00: Shows pretty aromas of raisin and cola. Full-bodied, round and full of juicy dried fruit and spice flavors, with fine tannins and a long, tasty finish. Get the 2nd bottle for $1.00!
All sales final. No returns or exchanges. Offer good June 27th - July 3rd. Offer good while supplies last. Prices are subject to change without notice.

Village Wine Cellar Features!
2010 Brand New & Fresh Summer Whites
- Pine Ridge Chenin Blanc + Viognier, California, Was $14.00, Now $12.00: In the early 1990s, Pine Ridge crafted this unusual and delectable blend as an experimental bottling, creating one of our most beloved and popular wines. This unique marriage of two varietals that would never share the same bottle in their native France unites the crisp, honeyed fruit of Chenin Blanc with the plush body, light floral aromas and juicy stone fruit notes of Viognier, for a wine that is both sophisticated and easy to enjoy.
- Girard, Sauvignon Blanc, Napa Valley, Was $16.50, Now $13.50: A very clean, fresh and crisp Sauvignon Blanc; Lush aromas of citrus zest, pineapple and guava on the nose, while the palate exhibits grapefruit and lemon zest. A wonderful apéritif wine that pairs well with lighter white fish, green salads and goat cheese. 100% Sauvignon Blanc; Total cases produced: 20,015.
- St. Supery, Sauvignon Blanc, Napa Valley, 91 pts., Wine & Spirits; Was $20.00, Now $17.00: This wine exhibits brilliant hues of light yellow speared by vibrant streaks of green. Aromas of exotic grapefruit and green lime dominate with hints of caper, fennel and lemon zest. Flavors follow with tremendous ruby grapefruit, citrus, kiwi and guava through a crisp finish. This Sauvignon Blanc complements a wide variety of foods from mild cheeses and fish to boldly flavored Asian dishes. It's also a great sipper as an aperitif. "
- Geyser Peak, Sauvignon Blanc, River Ranches, Russian River Valley; $21.00: The 2010 vintage was distinguished by an exceptionally cool growing season which favored the development of the coveted 'ripe green' character in our fruit. Aromas and flavors of gooseberry, green fig, lemongrass, snap pea, chive, honeydew melon and lime abound and interplay with passionfruit and mineral notes. The lively acidity makes this an ideal summer aperitif and a delightful partner to oysters, shellfish, scallops and avocado, as well as a brilliant partner to spicy cuisine.
- Alpha Omega, Sauvignon Blanc, Napa Valley; Was $36.00, Now $26.00: Talented young winemaker Jean Hoefliger has teamed up with one of the world's finest palates, Michel Rolland, to create wines that convey their passion for excellence as well as the unique terroir that is Napa Valley. A taste of fresh citrus-like acidity with touches of grapefruit, balanced with rose petals, pears and peaches
- Kim Crawford, Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough; $16.00: Deriving from the French word sauvage ("wild") and blanc ("white") ours is a crisp and powerful, well balanced wine with intense aromas of gooseberry, passion fruit and citrus flavours. This light to medium bodied aromatic wine is a great match with salads, seafood and vegetarian dishes and perfectly acceptable to be enjoyed on its own!
- Brancott Vineyards, Sauvignon Blanc, Reserve, Marlborough, 90 pts.; $17.00: The wine is light straw in color with green highlights. Aromas of ripe capsicum, gooseberry and grapefruit dominate with tropical fruit notes apparent. This wine displays full fruit intensity. The ripe capsicum flavors meld well with the gooseberry and supporting mango and passionfruit flavors. A well balanced wine showing the lively, crisp acidity associated with this style.
- Cloudy Bay, Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough, 93 pts., The Tasting Panel; $27.50: Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2010 has fresh acidity and displays a lovely spectrum of Sauvignon Blanc flavours and aromas. Zingy lime / grapefruit citrus, ripe tropical characters and delicate floral / herbal notes meld on the nose and palate. A small portion of barrel ferment adds weight and texture to the wine, nicely balanced by a mineral acid backbone. It is a wine of vibrant intensity and elegance .... and thoroughly refreshing.

Village Wine Cellar - Where we keep our entire store at a constant 64 degrees From Parker's Wine Buyers Guide No 7 by Robert M. Parker, Jr. is this quote from the introduction, How to Store Wine, page 9:
"If you can somehow get the temperature down to 65 degrees Farenheight or below, you will never have to worry about the condition of your wines."
Here at the Village Wine Cellar we proudly keep we proudly keep our ENTIRE store a constant "64 degrees temperature controlled," 365 days a year, hence Village Wine Cellar. This separates our store from all others as temperature is vital to the keeping wine from being spoiled. Proper storage is crucial to keeping the wine's integrity and quality from being compromised. As you are aware, all too often, someone has purchased a bottle of wine elsewhere only to find that their purchase is ruined due to the store temperature was too warm. This will never happen at Village Wine Cellar. |
