  • 2006 Ramey, Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley, 92 pts., Tanzer; $59.00"Bright ruby. Cherry and red berry aromas are complicated by dried rose, tobacco and fresh herbs. Juicy and intense, with gently sweet red and dark berry flavors and slow-mounting tannins. Becomes more floral with air and finishes with impressive clarity and spicy persistence. Eighty percent of the vines that provided this fruit are planted on steep hillsides, Ramey told me." Get the 2nd bottle for $1.00!

  • 2002 Oasi Degli Angeli, Kurni, Marches, 92 pts., Wine Spectator; $129.00:
Oasi degli Angeli is an estate that dates back three generations when the great-grandfather of Eleonora created a small farm in the Marche dedicated to the growing of grapes, olives, fruits trees and vegetables. In the middle of the 1990's Eleonora and Marco, her companion in life and a winemaker, decided to dedicate the farm to the cultivation of wine grapes and to make an agriturismo (a small guest house in the countryside) out of the family estate. Village Wine Cellar Features!
Malbec etc., Argentina!

  • 2010 Bodegas Colome, Torrontes, Calchaqui Valley; $15.00: With classic medium straw-yellow color, the Muscat aromas of jasmine and honeysuckle in this wine progress into concentrated tropical flavors of guava, apricot, kefir lime and ruby grapefruit. Nice weight on the palate and a long and pleasing finish. Charming and complex, this is a delightful match for delicate fish and shellfish, seared Ahi salad, risotto and Asian-influenced cuisine.
  • 2010 Don Miguel, Gascon, Malbec, Mendoza; $15.00: Don Miguel Gascón Malbec is a full bodied wine with a deep violet color, showcasing flavors and aromas of blackberry, blueberry, plum, dark cherry, and a hint of mocha. The wine is elegant and rich in texture, with soft, round tannins and a long velvety finish.
  • 2009 Layer Cake, Malbec, Mendoza, 90 pts., Tanzer; $16.00: Dense purple-colored with notes of blackberry, earth, roasted meats, and a hint of barbecue spice, this wine exhibits great fruit, delicious, full-bodied texture, silky tannins, and a long finish. It does taste more like a $30-50 bottle of Malbec than one that can be purchased for $16.
  • 2007 Mendel, Malbec, Mendoza, 90 pts., Tanzer; $30.00: Incredible dark red/purple color. The aromas of sweet French oak and espresso get more complex with every swirl of the glass, unveiling black plum, ripe raspberry, and violet aromas. The wine is full-bodied, dense, deep and chewy with flavors of black raspberry, plums, roasted herb, and caramel notes. This beauty could be enjoyed now with a nice ribeye steak or leg of lamb since it shows incredible balance for such a concentrated wine.
  • 2006 Bodegas Catena Zapata, Cabernet Sauvignon, Mendoza, 92 pts.; $24.00:The 2006 Catena Cabernet Sauvignon presents a dark purple color with garnet tones. The nose offers intense aromas of ripe black currant fruit with layers of eastern spice, cedar, and a touch of fresh herbs. The mouthfeel is full and rich with layers of cassis flavors and notes of roasted espresso and graphite. The finish is bright and fresh with finely grained tannins.
  • 2007 BenMarco, Proprietary Red, Expresivo, Mendoza, 92 pts., Parker; $36.00: Very ripe and opulent, crammed with blueberry, loganberry and linzer torte flavors laid over dense but polished structure. • 2005 Susana Balbo, Proprietary Red, Nosotros, Mendoza, 93 pts., Parker; $95.00: In a country dominated by male winemakers, Susana Balbo stands out not only for her gender, but for her incredible skill and experience. She has been making wine since she earned her enology degree in 1981, and she has probably produced a wider variety of wines than any other winemaker in Argentina.
  • 2005 Tikal, Proprietary, Red, Locura, Mendoza, 1.5 Liter, 94 pts., Parker; $200.00: "A wine that is the ultimate expression of terroir Argentina, creating a bold blend of three grapes using three different regions. I then chose a Malbec South, a land bonarda warm eastern and northern Argentine Torrontes. For the 2005 vintage I chose an image of renowned photographer and friend Martin Gurfein see that it represented the original complexity and symbiosis that exists in this wine.

Village Wine Cellar - Where we keep our entire store at a constant 64 degrees

From Parker's Wine Buyers Guide No 7 by Robert M. Parker, Jr.  is this quote from the introduction, How to Store Wine, page 9:

"If you can somehow get the temperature down to 65 degrees Farenheight or below, you will never have to worry about the condition of your wines."

Here at the Village Wine Cellar we proudly keep  we proudly keep our ENTIRE store a constant "64 degrees temperature controlled," 365 days a year, hence Village Wine Cellar.

This separates our store from all others as temperature is vital to the keeping wine from being spoiled.  Proper storage is crucial to keeping the wine's integrity and quality from being compromised.  As you are aware,  all too often, someone has purchased a bottle of wine elsewhere only to find that their purchase is ruined due to the store temperature was too warm.  This will never happen at Village Wine Cellar.
