 Spring $1.00 Sale!
Buy One Of These Bottles & Get the 2nd Bottle,
Same Brand for $1.00
- 2004 Hugel, Alsace, Jubilee, 93 pts., Wine Spectator; $44.00: "Peach and lemon flavors vie with the tart structure in this lean, sharp white. There's richness, but it's wound tight and needs time to integrate. Be patient, it has potential. Best from 2008 through 2018. 150 cases imported." Get the 2nd bottle for $1.00!
- 2007 Kim Crawford, Marlborough, Dry Riesling, New Zealand; $18.00: COLOUR Palest green. NOSE Wonderful lifted aromas of citrus, honey and apple blossom. PALATE A citrus burst is immediately obvious on the palate. A lively little wine with good structure, palate weight and persistence. CELLARING Great now and can only get better. Will keep up to 10 years with careful cellaring. FOOD MATCH An ideal aperitif or suited to delicate fusion foods. Get the 2nd bottle for $1.00!
- 2007 Argyle, Riesling, Eola-Amity Hills, Oregon; $30.00: Pale green gold in the glass, this wine smells of cut green grass and ripe pears. In the mouth it is linear and straightforward, with cool flavors of wet stone, fuji apple, and hints of floral qualities in the finish. Off-dry. Get the 2nd bottle for $1.00!
- 2007 Chateau Montelena, Riesling, Potter Valley, Coastal Mendocino Mountains; $30.00: According to Robert Parker: "The virtually dry, kabinett-styled 2007 Johannisberg Riesling from the Potter Valley is as fresh as a mountain spring. Crisp orange zest and white citrus are presented in a wine that is as naked as the day all of us are born. Dry, fresh, and lively, this sleeper selection can be enjoyed over the next 1-2 years. Get the 2nd bottle for $1.00!
- 2002 Roederer, Anderson Valley, L'Ermitage, Sparkling, 91 pts., Wine Enthusiast; $45.00: "Sleek and complex, with lovely aromas of green apple, loam and warm cinnamon rolls. The flavors show pinpoint focus, yet are nicely layered, with baked apple, lime and toasty spice flavors that linger. Drink now through 2013." Get the 2nd bottle for $1.00!
This $1.00 purchase only applies to the 2nd bottle. No other discounts allowed. All sales final. No returns or exchanges. Offer good April 18th - April 24th. Offer good while supplies last. Prices are subject to change without notice.

Village Wine Cellar Features! Rieslings for Easter! - 2007 Goose Ridge, Columbia Valley, Washington; $14.00: With ripe, crisp acidity and lovely floral notes, this is a pleasant wine to drink. Our Riesling is full of distinctive stone fruit flavors of pear, peach and apricot. Dry in style, with a slight honeyed finish.
- 2009 Dr. Loosen, QbA, Mosel-Saar-Ruwer; $13.00: There's a snappy acidity to the peach, apple and Bosc pear flavors in this white, which offers plenty of freshness on the finish, with hints of glazed citrus. Drink now through 2014.
- 2009 Dr. Loosen, Blue Slate, Kabinett; $23.00: As with all of the Dr. Loosen wines, this blended kabinett is very fruit-forward and direct. The green apple and lime notes are wonderfully pure and balanced. Drink this light, spritely wine over the next few years.
- 2005 Bert Simon, Mosel-Saar-Ruwer, Spatlese, 90 pts., Wine Spectator; $23.00: "A distinctive mineral character marks this Riesling, with red fruit and orange tones lending depth. Light-weight and detailed, ending with a burst of stone. Drink now through 2020."
- 2009 Chateau Ste. Michelle, Eroica, Dr. Loosen, Columbia Valley, 90 pts., Wine Spectator; $21.00: A slightly off-dry stone-fruit-and-spice-bomb of a Riesling made with the participation of Germany's Ernst Loosen. The less complex -- and somewhat sweet -- basic Columbia Valley bottling is hard to beat in its price range.
- 2003 Joh. Jos. Prum, M-S-R Auslese, Gold Cap, Wehlener Sonnenuhr, 95 pts., Wine Spectator; $115.00: Just a little honeyed fruit, but there is also the sensation of density, of richness. Despite this on the palate it is very lightfooted, pure, elegant and delicately balanced. Great potential here, a combination of style and substance. A really excellent and yet hugely understated wine.
- 2009 Dr. Loosen, Auslese Mosel Urziger Wurzgarten, 3 Litre; $300.00: Rich, long-limbed and finely layered, this is a sumptuous example, peaches, nectarine and apple with a dab of honey and an undercurrent of spicy minerality.
- 2007 Yangarra Estate, GSM, Cadenzia, McLaren Vale, 3 Litre; $95.00: The nose is a mix of beetroot, cherries and crème caramel. The flavours are rich and lush with black fruits and silky tannins. With airing the wine reveals characteristic flavors of boot polish, dark chocolate, flint, dried roses and lavender.

For Your Appreciation: Thank You!
Pay one penny for one bottle of 2006 Santa Carolina, Merlot, Reserva, Colchagua Valley, when you spend over $100.00 on any wine purchased. Normal price is $14.00 per bottle.
Ripe and forward, with just the smallest hint of green on the nose and palate. The feel is creamy and full, while flavors of black fruit are pleasant. Long on the finish given the wine's humble provenance; some mild espresso bitterness keeps it from being candied. Imported by Carolina Wine Brands USA Inc. - M.S. Published 5/1/2008
Normal retail price is $14.00 per bottle, but you only pay 1 penny with a $100.00 wine purchase.

Village Wine Cellar - Where we keep our entire store at a constant 64 degrees From Parker's Wine Buyers Guide No 7 by Robert M. Parker, Jr. is this quote from the introduction, How to Store Wine, page 9:
"If you can somehow get the temperature down to 65 degrees Farenheight or below, you will never have to worry about the condition of your wines."
Here at the Village Wine Cellar we proudly keep we proudly keep our ENTIRE store a constant "64 degrees temperature controlled," 365 days a year, hence Village Wine Cellar. This separates our store from all others as temperature is vital to the keeping wine from being spoiled. Proper storage is crucial to keeping the wine's integrity and quality from being compromised. As you are aware, all too often, someone has purchased a bottle of wine elsewhere only to find that their purchase is ruined due to the store temperature was too warm. This will never happen at Village Wine Cellar. |
