Spring $1.00 Sale!

Buy One Of These Bottles & Get the 2nd Bottle,

Same Brand for $1.00

  • 2004 Hugel, Riesling, Jubilee, Alsace, 93 pts., Wine Spectator; $44.00Made in exceptional vintages only, following severe selection during all the stages of its productions, this very fine wine possesses remarkable finesse and elegance. At its best after three to five years, it often develops distinctive "mineral" hints which further underline its exceptional complexity. It reveals its true character when served with a noble fish dish, or shellfish, in a cream or butter sauce. Get the 2nd bottle for $1.00!
  • 2007 Kim Crawford, Dry Riesling, Marlborough; $18.00: COLOUR
Palest green. NOSE Wonderful lifted aromas of citrus, honey and apple blossom. PALATE A citrus burst is immediately obvious on the palate. A lively little wine with good structure, palate weight and persistence.
CELLARING Great now and can only get better. Will keep up to 10 years with careful cellaring. FOOD MATCH An ideal aperitif or suited to delicate fusion foods. Get the 2nd bottle for $1.00!
  • 2002 Pommery, Brut, POP Gold, Champagne, 187 mls.; $19.00: Very bright, almost shiny. Subtle, pale yellow colour. Pretty effervescence highlighted by countless tiny bubbles. A simple but very natural smell. A highly subtle nose in which floral notes combine with touches of citrus fruits blended within a creamy and silky cocoon. The subtle nose leaves a creamy, smooth sensation on the palate. The citrus notes produce a fresh wine. A tender texture that reveals the wine's generosity. Get the 2nd bottle for $1.00!
  • 2004 Ciacci, Piccolomini d'Aragona, Sant' Antimo Favius, Tuscany, 91 pts., Wine Spectator; $49.00: Interesting meaty, spicy berry character in this wine. Full-bodied, with round and caressing tannins and a long, flavorful finish. Drink now. Get the 2nd bottle for $1.00!
  • 2005 Carparzo, Brunello di Montalcino, Tuscany, 92 pts., Parker; $65.00: In the glass the wine showed opaque ruby red colors with hints of browning on the rim. The nose boasted ripe fruit aromas of strawberry, cassis, cherry. Once in the mouth more cassis fruit and candied cherries carried through the mid-palette. But this is definitely not a fruit bomb. Oak provides for a velvety mouthfeel and soft tannins provide structure. All the pieces were in place for this elegant wine. Get the 2nd bottle for $1.00!
This $1.00 purchase only applies to the 2nd bottle. No other discounts allowed. All sales final. No returns or exchanges. Offer good  March 28th - April 3rd. Offer good while supplies last. Prices are subject to change without notice.

Village Wine Cellar Features!
Tuscany

  • 2007 Antinori, Villa Antinori, IGT; Was $24.00, Now $19.75: This is a "Baby Super-Tuscan" IGT wine from Antinori, one of the larger producers in Tuscany - and a family that has been making wine in the region for centuries. This blend of 60% Sangiovese, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, and 5% Syrah was aged for 12 months in French, American and Hungarian oak barriques before bottling.
  • 2007 Ruffino, Toscana Il Ducale, 90 pts., Wine Spectator, Was $18.00, Now $15.00: The wine displays a ruby red core with violet reflections. The bouquet is complex and intense, with outstanding notes of cassis, cherries jam, plums and chocolate. Then it shows very clean flavors of tobacco, vanilla, eucalyptus and spice. The zingy notes added by Syrah perfectly match with the sensations of red and black fruit and aromatic herbs, given by Sangiovese and even with the roundness typical of Merlot.
  • 2004 Il Poggione, Brunello di Montalcino, Vigna Paganelli Riserva, 96 pts., Parker; $97.50:  "The 2004 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Vigna Paganelli emerges from the glass with masses of scorched earth, leather, tar, licorice, menthol and dark fruit. The Riserva shows a touch more inner sweetness, richness and depth in its fruit than the regular bottling, plus a bit more French oak as well. For now, the Riserva is quite reticent and requires air, but with time its awesome richness and power come through in spades..."
  • 2007 Antinori, Tignanello, 95 pts., Parker; $99.00: "Antinori's 2007 Tignanello is wonderfully ripe and seductive in its dark cherries, flowers, spices, tobacco, sage, cedar, mint and minerals. This is as opulent a Tignanello as I have ever tasted but there is just enough acidity and structure from the Sangiovese to keep things from going over the top..."
  • 2005 Antinori Brunello di Montalcino, Pian delle Vigne, 92 pts., Parker; $66.00: The 2005 Brunello di Montalcino is a gorgeous, classy offering laced with fragrant, mineral-infused red fruit, flowers and spices. This delicate, medium-bodied Brunello reveals outstanding length and a clean, refreshing finish. With time in the glass, the wine's inner perfume emerges, adding even greater complexity..."
  • 2007 Antinori, Solaia, IGT, 97 pts., Parker; $315.00: The 2007 Solaia saturates the palate with a heady array of super-ripe black cherries, plums, cassis, mocha and sweet French oak. There is an exotic quality to the Solaia I find totally irresistible. Despite its considerable ripeness and opulence, the 2007 Solaia is never heavy, rather it impresses for its extraordinary finesse and balance.
  • 2004 GAJA, Brunello, di Montalcino, Sugarille, DOCG, 95 pts., Parker; $185.00: "Shows aromas of citrus fruit, with raspberry and blackberry. Full-bodied, with a solid core of fruit and silky tannins. Very well-structured, with a hint of new wood on the finish. Long and balanced. Still needs time. The best wine ever from this estate. Best after 2011."
  • 2004 GAJA Brunello di Montalcino, Restitua, DOCG, 95 pts., Tanzer; $200.00: In the palate, this Brunello di Montalcino expresses ripe tannins, integrated acidity, rich structure and a lingering finish.

Village Wine Cellar - Where we keep our entire store at a constant 64 degrees

From Parker's Wine Buyers Guide No 7 by Robert M. Parker, Jr.  is this quote from the introduction, How to Store Wine, page 9:

"If you can somehow get the temperature down to 65 degrees Farenheight or below, you will never have to worry about the condition of your wines."

Here at the Village Wine Cellar we proudly keep  we proudly keep our ENTIRE store a constant "64 degrees temperature controlled," 365 days a year, hence Village Wine Cellar.

This separates our store from all others as temperature is vital to the keeping wine from being spoiled.  Proper storage is crucial to keeping the wine's integrity and quality from being compromised.  As you are aware,  all too often, someone has purchased a bottle of wine elsewhere only to find that their purchase is ruined due to the store temperature was too warm.  This will never happen at Village Wine Cellar.
