Village Wine Cellar Features!
Notable 2007 California
Cabernet Sauvignon
- Flora Springs, Trilogy, Napa Valley, 93 pts., Parker; Was $65.00, Now $50.00: Flora Springs has built its legacy on beautiful and complex wines that can be enjoyed either as young and vibrant or as cellared and graceful. The 2007 exhibits all of the classic Trilogy attributes with a lovely cassis and cherry bouquet as well as huge black fruit flavors that envelope the palate.
- Antica, Atlas Peak, Napa Valley, 94 pts., Wine Enthusiast; Was $60.00, Now $49.00: It's a perfect blend of red fruit with a touch of minerality. It's fine tannins and long finish make your tongue dance while you savor ever last sip.
- Duckhorn Vineyards, Napa Valley, 5 Stars, Decanter; $70.00: Aromas of ripe currant, spearmint, marzipan and tobacco lead to intense flavors of blackberry and black cherry, all supported by a subtle framework of French oak, which adds nuance, depth and dimension to the finish.
- Sebastiani, Cherryblock, Sonoma Valley; $75.00: "This black beauty offers the trademark graphite and blackberry character found in all Cherryblock bottlings. It is deep and expressive with damp earth, spice and "cigar box" oak seasoning. The flavors are concentrated, yet elegant with blackberries, currants, toasty oak and dusty Cabernet notes. Thanks to the soft tannins, it can be enjoyed now, but will develop and improve over the next 7 to 10 years. A harmonious blend of power and elegance, this is by far our most balanced Cherryblock ever."
- Altamura, Napa Valley, 96 pts., #5 Top 100 Wine Spectator 2010; $85.00: Altamura comes from one of the least-known corners of Napa, a small, remote area called Wooden Valley. Northeast of the city of Napa, this area is distinguished by a dramatic fog bank and cooler climate, and subsequently a longer growing season; temperatures here can be as many as 10 degrees lower than the Napa Valley average. Frank and Karen Altamura started planting grapes on their 400-acre family ranch in 1985. They also make Sangiovese and Sauvignon Blanc.
- Far Niente, Estate, Napa Valley, 93 pts., Parker; Was $120.00, Now $109.00: This wine offers intense aromas of blackberry and boysenberry along with licorice and perfume. A juicy and silky entry is followed by a velvety midpalate, rich with layers of ripe purple fruit and cassis. Well-integrated and melting tannins lead to a long and juicy finish.
- Ridge Vineyards, Monte Bello, Santa Cruz Mountains, 94 pts., Tanzer; $125.00: Tasting Notes - Cassis, violets, blackberry. Wet stone, espresso, notes of sweet oak. On entry, ripe mountain fruit, licorice, complex minerals. Youthful and lively, with firm acid and elegant chalky tannins. Captivating finish. EB (6/10)
- Dominus, Proprietary Red, Napa Valley, 98 pts., Parker; $146.00: "Deep ruby/purple-colored with a sweet nose of incense, cedar wood, black currants, black cherries, licorice, and a subtle hint of roasted herbs, it is an expansive, savory, opulent wine with a full-bodied mouthfeel, silky tannins, and sensational concentration. A legend in the making.....

Village Wine Cellar - Where we keep our entire store at a constant 64 degrees From Parker's Wine Buyers Guide No 7 by Robert M. Parker, Jr. is this quote from the introduction, How to Store Wine, page 9:
"If you can somehow get the temperature down to 65 degrees Farenheight or below, you will never have to worry about the condition of your wines."
Here at the Village Wine Cellar we proudly keep we proudly keep our ENTIRE store a constant "64 degrees temperature controlled," 365 days a year, hence Village Wine Cellar. This separates our store from all others as temperature is vital to the keeping wine from being spoiled. Proper storage is crucial to keeping the wine's integrity and quality from being compromised. As you are aware, all too often, someone has purchased a bottle of wine elsewhere only to find that their purchase is ruined due to the store temperature was too warm. This will never happen at Village Wine Cellar. |
