1,500 Kids...

Hard to imagine, but 1,500 is the number of kids on our agency's waiting list right now. Each of them and their parent/guardian keep hoping we will find them a Big Brother or Big Sister. And for every one, there are hundreds more central Ohio kids facing adversity who could benefit from mentoring.

What if every one of these kids avoided risky behaviors?

Graduated from high school?

And envisioned a successful future?

Just think how that would benefit our community! Please spread the word that we need volunteers to mentor children. Mentors don't need to be heroes, or rich, or famous...we need everyday people who are willing to share their life experiences to help a child achieve success.

What if more adults made this commitment to a child?

About Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio, a United Way member agency, has been matching children with mentors since 1933. The third-largest Big Brothers Big Sisters agency in the country, we serve thousands of children each year through our community-based mentoring program, school-based mentoring program (including Project Mentor) and mentoring programs at Camp Oty'Okwa in the Hocking Hills. Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful, monitored matches between volunteers and children. We provide a system of ongoing evaluation and support which is proven by independent studies to improve the odds that children will perform better in school and avoid violence and illegal activities, and have stronger relationships with their parents and others.
