Iowa Lakes Local Food Roundtable May 18

The Iowa Lakes Resource Conversation and Development (RC&D) and Flavors of Northwest Iowa are working together to support robust local and regional food systems. To kickoff our goal to map local foods and markets in the Iowa Lakes region, we're hosting a Local Food Roundtable May 18, 3:30-5:00 PM at the Iowa Lakes RC&D office in Spencer, IA.

 

Come to share information about current projects and hear what others are doing to grow food and expand local food production. Learn more.

Master Gardener Webinar Series 
The Iowa Master Gardener program is offering a series of summer webinars. The 2012 series titled "Garden Goodness" will be hosted by Iowa State University Extension county offices on the fourth Tuesday of the month, May through August.Each session will provide information about vegetable gardening, but from a variety of perspectives.

Loess Hills Prairie Seminar Prairie is the foundation of flavors, and we enthusiastically support the 36th annual Loess Hills Prairie Seminar! Visit the website to learn more about the seminar, download the program, and get registered!

 

Family Farms Produce LLC is featured on one of the Saturday, June 2, breakout sessions. Family Farms is a 10-acre vegetable farm nestled in the Loess Hills, providing produce to the Sioux City and Onawa farmers' markets. Tour the farm and get hands-on with vermiculture composting demonstrations by Worm Works Organic Fertilizer
