Experience "farm to fork" exploring locally grown culinary sensations from Loess Hills farms. Tour and taste your way through Kim Alexander's beef and pastured poultry farm near Smithland and Family Farms Produce vegetable farm near Castana. The flavors will culminate with a wine tasting and hog roast at Timber Ridge Winery. Entertainment and delicious samples will be provided throughout the day. Treat your taste buds to fresh Iowa foods by signing up today!

Interested in volunteering or having your seasonal recipe featured? Join us Monday, Aug. 8, 6:30 p.m. at the Turin Community Center for a menu-planning meeting. Local food producers are especially encouraged to attend. Showcase your bounty with us!

Sioux City Farmers Market + Mondays
Sioux City Farmers Market logo Now you can get market produce 3X a week! Talk about FRESH! In response to customer requests, the market, located in the parking lot west of the Tyson Events Center at the intersection of Tri-View Avenue and Pearl Street, recently added a third day of operations. The market is now open from 4 to 8 p.m. on Mondays, through Sept. 26. The market will continue to operate from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Summer Soup & Salsa Contest July 23
There was a small but delicious turnout for the contest at the Ida County Fair.

Leah Gobersen entered and won with her Zesty Salsa made with ingredients straight from her garden while Raymond Sample followed a close second in the People's Choice Award with his Ham & Potato Soup.
