Greetings!
You are receiving this e-mail because you have previously signed up, have been included in past Extension lists from local food or commercial horticulture events, or referred by a friend. Enjoy!
Just like your plants, Flavors continues to grow sprouts that will soon take root outside. For example, take a look at our growing Local Food & Flavor Guide map. We're making the map even more interactive on our website launching this month. And, oh yeah, did we mention that the Flavors website will launch this month! |

Raspberry's Seeks (good) Food
Chef Calvin Byrd wants beefsteaks, rainbow chard, your latest potato cultivar, and much, much more. With his new creative working kitchen debuting in the former bar soon, he is hoping local produce will shine in his new daily creations.
Read more about Rasberry's Bistro and Fine Pastry to learn about Byrd's desire to slice into locally grown foods.
If you're a farmer with produce to provide, contact Rasberry's at (712) 252-2948. Or read up on tips and regulations for selling to restaurants.

Flavor Foodie Evolution
Just 10 short months since the inception of Flavors our website for locally grown food and culture in Northwest Iowa will launch this month. This just goes to show that we have so many great local food assets in the area! However, we know there are many more and will continue to evolve as a regional organization to bring foodies together. What you can expect to see on the website:
- A map of farmers, markets, and small businesses that grow or sell locally grown or made products
- Galleries of farmers' markets in the area
- Stories about your friendly hometown farmers on the new blog
- A portal packed full of resources for fruit and vegetable farmers
- Tasty tidbits for eaters and consumer information
- and more!
Remember, it is a work in progress and we're accepting applications for locations to be included in the guide (for free). So if you know another local foodie--please pass this newsletter along by clicking the forward link at the bottom of this e-mail! Help make local and regional food system connections!
