Leveraging Purchasing Power For Change
May 2012 | Washington Post | Media Planet
I get to work with some of the biggest and the best corporations in the world. As industry leaders, these corporations are using their purchasing power to create shared value and to change the way the world does business so that it is more inclusive and sustainable.
If women really do reinvest 90 percent of their income in their families and communities, and men reinvest less than 40 percent, then women should be at the center of economic development efforts going forward.
Women have an opportunity and a responsibility to take their rightful place in the world as co-creators and beneficiaries of our $64 trillion global economy.
