Newsletter

January 24th 2012
Greetings!

This newsletter is packed with info, so pull up a (bike?) seat, take your time, and read with care. You don't want to miss out the shoe buy info or new event announced below!

It's race planning season! We'd like to hear what races you are planning on this year, including multisport, single sport, adventure races, and more. This will help the Club plan the tent's travel schedule and help you by connecting you with other members doing the same races.

We've started a Message Board thread to collect ideas and generate a 2012 Race List--Click here to view that thread. We've also started a poll for April races, if you're racing in April let us know

Everyone can view the above Message Board links, but only registered and current 2012 Club members can post a reply. If you aren't registered on the new Message Boards yet, what are you waiting for? Go to sltc.websitetoolbox.com and click Register. Once you've confirmed your email address, we'll approve you and you can get posting.

And while you're in the Message Boards, be sure to fill out your profile page. You can include signature, pictures, and more. It helps other Club members get to know you.

Iron Brick Coach's Corner

Heart Rate Revisited, by Paul Schon, Ironbrick Training

As we head into the last part of the "off-season" and you plan your training progressions, many of you are considering a heart rate focused plan. Even those that are not going to strictly adhere to a HR based plan will likely encounter those notations of the like of "75% effort" or Zone 3 effort.

What do these mean and how can you be sure that you are executing the plan's goal or purpose? Click here to keep reading...
