Golf Week Scheduled to Tee Off on Central Missouri's

Lake of the Ozarks Golf Trail

LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. - Central Missouri's Lake of the Ozarks area becomes a golfing paradise during Golf Week on the Lake of the Ozarks Golf Trail from Sept. 30 through Oct. 7.

The Lake of the Ozarks Golf Trail is a group of 13 Lake area golf courses and 11 of the Lake's accommodation members, offering affordable golf and lodging packages at the Lake of the Ozarks. The Trail includes golf courses designed by legends like Arnold Palmer, Roger Null, Bruce Devlin/Robert Von Hagge, Ken Kavanaugh and Tom Weiskopf. For more information about these beautiful courses and lodging properties call 800-490-8474, visit the Golf Trail's website at GolfingMissouri.com or "like" the Golf Trail's Facebook page.

Golf Week on the Lake of the Ozarks Golf Trail lets golfers enjoy eight straight days of golf-oriented activities at the Lake of the Ozarks. Golf Week's main event is the Golf Week Fall Invitational, a two-day tournament at The Oaks at Tan-Tar-A Resort and Osage National Golf Resort. This tournament is FREE to anyone who has booked a Golf Trail Golf Package. Full details on how to qualify for this free tournament can be found at the Golf Trail's website.

"We are inviting our preferred golfing customers who have stayed with us on a Golf Trail Package to enjoy two days of a free tournament as a reward for their loyalty," said Lake of the Ozarks Golf Council President and PGA professional Paul Leahy. "The only stipulation is you have to purchase a minimum two-night stay at one of our Golf Trail lodging partners. It's that simple."

Other events planned for Golf Week are reduced rates on golf and lodging at participating hotels and courses; closest-to-the-pin and hole-in-one golf contests; chances to win free golf and lodging packages; short game clinics by PGA pros; a Pro-Am tournament at Dogwood Hills Golf Club; a live music concert at Osage National Golf Resort and much, much more.

"Golf Week is an opportunity for golfers to experience all of the courses at the Lake of the Ozarks at some of the most reasonable rates of the year," said Leahy, "and the weather is typically some of the best golf weather of the year. Add in the fact that we'll have two tournaments, golf contests, clinics by PGA pros and other great golf deals running all during Golf Week, and it's an offer that most golfers would find hard to refuse."

In addition to deals on golf, the Lake of the Ozarks Golf Trail has partnered with Lake-area businesses to provide discounts and specials for those who attend Golf Week events.

"Our local businesses have joined in and offered discounts and specials for everything that makes the Lake area so appealing," said Leahy. "We have commitments from restaurants, lodging, bars and other area attractions, including excursion boat rides and miniature golf. And there's so much more. We want everyone who is our guest for the week to experience all the great amenities the Lake has to offer."

Dogwood Hills Golf Resort is hosting a free PGA clinic and the Dogwood Hills Fall Pro-Am tournament to bookend Golf Week.

Golf Week isn't just for those who have booked a golf package; it's for golfers who love the game and the courses at the Lake of the Ozarks. As Osage National Golf Professional Larry Salsman put it, "It's just our way of sending out a general 'thank you' to the people who have chosen to make the Lake of the Ozarks their favorite golf destination."

"I think Golf Week is a unique idea and is truly ahead of its time," said Salsman. "And I hope it will find the momentum to continue for many years to come."
