Hot Summer Nights, a five-part cruising series spectacular, returns for another season of hot cars, great music, food and family fun on the Bagnell Dam Strip (Business Highway 54) in Lake Ozark. The series - winner of the Missouri Division of Tourism's 2011 Innovator award - takes place on five select Fridays (May 11, June 8, July 13, Aug. 10 and Sept. 14). Admission is free each night. The first Hot Summer Nights event kicks off on May 11 from 4-11 p.m. and features a free concert by Project Hysteria, a mid-Missouri band playing rock and blues hits from the '70s and '80s. The concert starts at 4 p.m. on Luby's Stage (1359 Bagnell Dam Blvd.) and ends at 6 p.m. DJ Leo Case will continue spinning tunes from 6-11 p.m. and Charcoal Chuck is back to draw free charcoal portraits of all kids 10 and younger. Brand new this year will be a monthly drawing for prizes at each event. All tickets purchased during each Hot Summer Nights event will be entered into a Grand Prize drawing on Sept.14 for three vacation packages courtesy of Lake Ozark Vacations (PMG), Southwood Shores Resort Condos and Kapilana Resort. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5 and can be bought at any of the events. The winner does not have to be present to win.
