Alternate Heating Ideas
Radiant. Ductless. Solar.
Radiant Heat (aka In-Floor Heat)

Furnace vs RadiantRadiant heating systems involve supplying heat directly to the floor of a house. Heat is then radiated from the floor to your feet, the air and furniture as the heat rises. Radiant heating has a number of advantages: it is more efficient than baseboard heating and usually more efficient than forced-air heating because no energy is lost through ducts. The lack of moving air can also be advantageous to people with severe allergies. Hydronic (liquid-based) systems use little electricity, a benefit for homes off the power grid or in areas with high electricity prices like Kaukauna Electric or Oconto Electric Cooperative. The hydronic systems can also be heated with a wide variety of energy sources, including standard gas- or oil-fired boilers, wood-fired boilers, solar water heaters, geothermal systems or some combination of these heat sources.

Little Hot - Little Cool

Mr Slim PhotoThe Mitsubishi Electric Mr. Slim is a wall mounted indoor ductless heating and cooling system. Mr. Slims have three components: the wall mounted unit (seen in the photo, top left), the outdoor unit and a wireless remote controller. Refrigerant is cycled between the outdoor and indoor unit and either heated or cooled depending on your home's need for heating or cooling.. These units also have anti-allergy and anti-oxidant filters to assist with indoor air quality. Mr. Slims are a great addition to a basement, sunroom, bedroom anywhere you'd like conditioned air without the expense of ductwork. The systems are quiet and efficient. They also qualify for a $1500 federal tax credit!

 Hometown Business
Some of the most reputable businesses are from small towns around Wisconsin. These 'Mom and Pop' shops are the heart of small towns. They provide excellent personal service and put in an honest work day. Their, or should I say 'our' reputation lies in the hands of customers' satisfaction and kind word of mouth. Think of your favorite restaurant, meat market  or favorite garage to tune up your vehicle. Our office is quite the same. Our customers drop in and say hello, talk about their systems - geothermal or conventional and walk away with a hand shake and a smile. We're here for you 24 hours a day 7 days a week. We live in the Wrightstown community. We shop local. We hope you will too.

Making the Most of the Federal Tax Credit

US Dept of Energy
The Federal Tax Credit Available for Geothermal installations is available until December 2016....as of today. Keep in mind, this tax credit applies to the entire installation cost and doesn't bear the burden of an upper limit like conventional furnaces have of $1500. An existing home could have a system installed and operational in as little as 3 days. Make the most of what the government is currently offering before it slips away.

Options available to heat and cool a home & tie those needs into other applications???  Endless!!!

Here is an example - you'll love this. A farmer decides to have a geothermal system installed for his home. He has an extra well on his property so the plan is to utilize this well and pump out the water for the geothermal system. A classic pump and dump installation and they work beautifully.

Where to dump the water once it's run through the geothermal system? The cows! The system pumps the water into the watering troughs for the cows and the cows have fresh water all the time freeing up the farmers time as well! Happy cows, happy farmer, excellent heating system.

We can do the same for Ice Arenas. Extract the heat from the ice and push it into the locker rooms, the waiting area, concessions, the bleachers, the restrooms - you name it! If we could find a way the heat the hot dog turner, we would!

Have a great day,
