India's Nhava Sheva Port Calls for Strike on September 24th

There is a possibility of a strike at the port of Nhava Sheva in India called for September 24th by the PAP (Project affected People) in response to the suspension of four GTI employees (Union leaders). The proposed strike would disrupt multiple terminals due to road blockage, stoppage of CFS (Container Freight Stations) movements and vessel operations would likely be impacted.

A strike at the Nhava Sheva Port would disrupt not only imports to the Western and Northern cities of India, but may also impact transshipment operations for cargo destined for the Persian Gulf area, Pakistan, East Coast of India, West Africa, Southeast Asia and other ports in this region.

We are continuing to monitor the situation closely. Please contact your move manager if you have any questions and for the latest information.
