Upcoming Holiday Closures and Delays in Malaysia
In countries around Malaysia, the Muslim religious holiday, Eid Al Fitr, is quickly approaching. This holiday marks the end of Ramadan, the Muslim holy month of fasting. From Friday, July 20 to Saturday, August 18 many ports and customs will either be closed or have limited operations and shipments may be delayed and incur additional charges.
In addition, Unigroup Worldwide UTS Malaysia offices will be closed from August 19 to August 27 in observance of the Hari Raya Eidul Fitri Holiday. The arrival deadlines for shipments to be cleared by customs and delivered before the holidays are as follows:
- Air shipment -- Aug 11, 2012
- LCL shipment -- Aug 8, 2012
- FCL shipment -- Aug 7, 2012
