Since the beginning of August, we have been monitoring the congestion in Nhava Sheva, India's largest container port.   Severe terminal congestion and berthing delays are being caused by the ongoing crane installation at the state-owned terminal.
 

Additionally, an unofficial "go slow" labor action by dock workers is threatening to worsen the situation.  Several steamship lines are skipping the Nhava Sheva port of call and discharging cargo at other Indian ports.

We want to make you aware of the situation in case you have shipments en route to India via Nhava Sheva. Your Hilldrup Move Manager will contact you should any of your shipments be affected.  We will provide alternative routing options, if available, for any new bookings that would be affected by the current port congestion and labor action.
