Preparing for the Holiday Season/Shipment Volume & Delays

  

  

To help prepare for possible shipment delays through the end of the year, we want to provide you with some reminders for the upcoming holiday season.

Holiday Shipments:
During this time of the year, customers frequently will ship Christmas presents in air or ocean shipments expecting delivery before Christmas.  U.S. and global ports frequently slow their handling and processing down due to holiday vacation schedules. Therefore, work slowdowns and freight must wait in the backlog to be processed and cleared. Due to the upcoming holidays and other factors, including the recent air freight issues, there may be backlog resulting in delays of shipments.

Also during this time of the year, there are adjustments in the sailing schedules due to the holiday period resulting in longer transit times, limitations on equipment, and reduced ocean slot allocations.  We would like to remind our customers; especially those sending shipments via ocean, they will want to hand carry their income tax records, as they may not arrive in time for January submission.  Also, holiday decorations and religious material are sensitive to clearance in some countries.
