To Our Valued Partners & Friends:

Air Cargo Update

Our Freight Forwarding Department is receiving communications daily from the events that have occurred since last Friday.  In the U.S., policies have remained the same.  However, they are informing us to "expect an unpredictable mix of security layers at all airports and cargo terminals that include in depth documentation reviews, enhanced explosives trace detection, advanced imaging technology, canine teams, among others."

In the EU, the European Union explosive experts will meet in Brussels today, November 5, to examine new measures to tighten air cargo security.  Information released advise no new security rules will be proposed at this time.

Because of the enhanced security measures possible, please be sure that all information provided to your Move Manager for your shipments (both import/export) are complete and accurate.  The documentation reviewed by the TSA (Transportation Security Administration) will be thorough and must be accurate and completed per the regulations.

G20 Summit in KOREA - Possible Shipment Delays November 11-12, 2010

16th Asian Games in Guangzhou, China - November 12- 27, 2010

Due to the 16th Asian Games being held in Guangzhou, China, there will be additional customs restrictions implemented causing possible shipment delays.  Please be aware of air shipment limitations, extensive inspections, and possibly higher assessments of duties/taxes for air and sea shipments.  This information is provided by our overseas agents as changes occur.

Daylight Saving Time (DST)

Daylight Saving Time comes to an end at 2 a.m. Sunday, November 7, when clocks across North America "fall back" one hour to Standard Time. Daylight Saving Time for 2010 began March 14.  Arizona, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and American Samoa, do not observe Daylight Saving Time in the U.S.  Many countries change days of transitions to DST from year to year.  Please be aware of this time change here at World Headquarters this weekend and take note of any exceptions around the world.
