Greetings!
We hope that your Mothers Day was an enjoyable one. Whether you were able to share it with your Mother or you are a Mother, what a precious opportunity to recognize all that our Mothers have done for us. The heart of a Mother knows no end. Seems that Mothers should be celebrated everyday!
As we enter into these Summer months, be sure to keep your procedures protected with SPF 30 or greater. Nothing can fade a permanent cosmetics procedure like the hot Florida sun. If your skin is dry, your procedure will not last as long! Hydrate in these dry months!
We enjoy preparing our newsletter with your interests in mind and we appreciate your feedback. If you feel inclined to do so, please forward it to your friends who you feel might enjoy it! This could spark their interest in our services, which translates into referral $$ for you!
Remember: if there is a topic or product you would like to see showcased in the months to come, please email your ideas to: permanent-cosmetics@kariboatner.com or contact us by phone at 386-257-9622. Please visit our website for additional procedure photos and information.
As always, we appreciate your trust in our ability to provide you with only the highest quality procedures and the latest and greatest products, while nurturing your spirit at the same time.
Thank You & God Bless You!

"For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the scriptures, we might have hope" Romans 15:4
Do you ever encourage yourself in the Lord? As Moms, we encourage everyone else- our husbands, our children, our friends, our extended family, and our neighbors. But we rarely take time to encourage ourselves. Instead, we're overly critical of ourselves. We allow the devil to beat us up, telling us how awful we are. If we listen long enough, the devil will convince us that we are unworthy to be servants of God. That we are horrible parents and wives, and that we are failures in life. We have to stop allowing the devil to deceive us. Don't dwell in his lies; meditate in God's Word. The Bible says that you are fully able to fulfill your destiny. It says that no weapon formed against you is going to prosper. It says that you can do everything through Christ's strength.
Stop focussing on what you can't do and start focussing on what you can do. Quit looking at how far you've got to go, and start looking at how far you've already come. Encourage yourself in the Lord today!!
It's your turn! |

~ Procedure Highlight ~
Eyebrow "Hair Transplant"
Immediately after permanent cosmetics |
Result after eyebrow transplant |
Our practice is full of women who desire to have their eyebrows back! This photo is that of a young girl who had lost her brow hair due to over-tweezing and desired to have her hairs back so badly, that she opted to have a "hair transplant" procedure done to put hairs in her brows! Hairs were taken from a donor sight behind her ear, then placed into her brows. "It sounded like the answer to all my problems," she said. However, here she was, $4000.00 later (and that was with a $2000 student discount applied), and the results were so bad, that she has to cut the hairs or shave them because as they grow out, they were growing in all different directions. The healing process was not what she thought; there was allot of bruising and swelling. She had hoped that she would be healed in time for school when she had it done one week earlier. The doctor who performed the procedure was not interested in her dissatisfaction, which can be quite disheartening, regardless of how much money you spend. The bottom line is this, to date, these types of hair transplant procedures offer little satisfaction for the fee that you pay.
We are always looking for ways to do things better, to enable you to have a more natural, low maintenance look of beauty. For now, the picture above speaks for itself:
$4000 hair transplant vs. $725 permanent cosmetics. You be the judge! |
~Ask Kari....
Q: Is permanent makeup very expensive?
A: The costs of a quality procedure vary depending on the area you have treated. Some technicians quote prices that include only one appointment. Two appointments are standard due to variations in pigment retention- the second appointment results in greater coverage much like a second coat of nail polish does. WARNING! When looking for a technician to do your procedure(s), the cost should be the last consideration in making your decision. It will cost you more money to have a procedure gone wrong removed than it will cost you to have the procedure applied correctly! You get what you pay for! |
~Secrets of the Beauty Insiders~
By Nada Manley
"If you want to look really beautiful and not like you have a lot of makeup on, go for a monochromatic makeup look. Then you'll see just the features and not the makeup. A lot of times, if you are wearing one color on eyes and another on cheeks and another on lips, you start to look too painted. Experimentation is great when you are really young, and it can be fun as you get older, but be sure to use color to pull out own features and not to draw attention to the makeup."
(This tip is from makeup artist Bobbe Joy, pages 58-59 of Nada's book.)

~What you ABSOLUTELY need to know about permanent cosmetics~
- In the State of Florida, permanent cosmetics is virtually unregulated
- The Health Department requires that a hand-washing sink be present in the treatment area and nothing else is required !
- There is no standard for education in the permanent cosmetics industry
- Technicians only receive a certificate of completion when they receive training
- Certification can only be established through the American Academy of Micropigmentation or the Society of Permanent Cosmetics Professionals
- Lack of state regulations leaves room for technicians to be inflammatory regarding their credentials, experience, etc...
- Malpractice Insurance is not required
- Technicians are required to have a "physician sponsor" to operate their business in the state of Florida
- Two methods of application are the hand and machine
- All methods of application require "touch-ups" after a period of time
- In most cases, a topical anesthetic is used to produce a desired level of numbness
Spread the word! Tell your friends to choose their technician wisely!! |
