The Canadian Transportation Agency (Agency) recently issued a decision determining that CHC Helicopters Canada Inc. (CHC Canada) would, if their proposed transaction were to be completed as filed, be Canadian, as defined in subsection 55(1) of the Canada Transportation Act.

In the Spring of this year, proposed new regulations which created a State Operators section in the CARs (CAR 607) were tabled in the CARAC process. About two days earlier, the Minister made an announcement that he would be repatriating oversight of the business aviation community and the POC program back to Transport Canada.

GOVERNMENT OPENS CLAIMS PROCESS FOR OPERATORS SUFFERING
FINANCIAL LOSSES FLOWING
FROM THE G8/G20 SUMMITS |
Claims for financial compensation for losses arising from the G8/G20 Summits are open until November 18 2010. HAC participated in all of the Airspace meetings leading up to the Summits in an effort to minimize losses to its members however, individual members may still have a claim arising from the events. Members who think they may have a claim should visit the G8 link Here or the G20 link Here.
