"STATE OPERATORS"
ISSUE TO WORKING GROUP
In the Spring of this year, proposed new regulations which created a State Operators section in the CARs (CAR 607) were tabled in the CARAC process. About two days earlier, the Minister made an announcement that he would be repatriating oversight of the business aviation community and the POC program back to Transport Canada.

GOVERNMENT OPENS CLAIMS PROCESS FOR OPERATORS SUFFERING
 FINANCIAL LOSSES FLOWING
 FROM THE G8/G20 SUMMITS
Claims for financial compensation for losses arising from the G8/G20 Summits are open until November 18 2010. HAC participated in all of the Airspace meetings leading up to the Summits in an effort to minimize losses to its members however, individual members may still have a claim arising from the events. Members who think they may have a claim should visit the G8 link Here or the G20 link Here.

Please note: At the time of publication the G8 link was down for maintenance purposes.  Should it fail to open, please call 1-877-750-6042.

HAC would be pleased to provide a letter of support for members who think that they may have a claim, as evidence that efforts were made by the helicopter community to mitigate the negative financial impact of the event.
