People-In-Motion on HAC's Committees |
A number of changes to HAC's Committee Executive took place at the Convention in Quebec City including changes on the Oil & Gas Committee and the Safety Committee. HAC welcomes the new Chairs and Vices! A complete list of Committee Chairs and their new Board Liaison contacts can be found here.
HAC's practice is to ask all Board members to serve as the Board liaison to at least one of the committees to ensure that the HAC Board remains in tune with Committees issues, needs, and recommendations - New Board Liaisons are also included in the link above.

HAC Adopts Position on Proposed CAR 607 for State Operators |
On May 3rd, 2010 HAC prepared a written submission on the subject of a proposed new Section of the CARs for State Operators. This difficult issue is divisive among different segments of HAC's operator-members and the position was crafted following lengthy discussions at HAC's Board.

Canadian Joint Helicopter Safety Analysis Team (JHSAT) Releases Year 2000 Report |
The Canadian JHSAT team recently released their report on their analysis of the Year 2000 Accidents. The team is part of a larger International Helicopter Safety Team (IHST) project aimed a reducing the global accident rate for helicopters by 80% by the year 2016. Read More
The Canadian JHSAT has been working on the report for two years and it contains a variety of recommendations aimed at reducing the Canadian helicopter accident rate.
