 Furniture Feature: Alternative Dining Options
Are you tired of the same ordinary round banquet tables and chairs? It's time to step out of the box and consider the many alternative dining options that we have to offer.
Mixing and matching chairs with benches or banquettes for dining seating options not only gives you a unique look and feel, but can also help you maximize seating and space. In the picture above, we paired our Sophistication Curved Banquette with Lola Dining Chairs for a classy & stylish dinner table.
If you want to incorporate a rustic feel into a modern event, look no further than our Hayden Collection. Pair the dark brown, wooden Hayden tables with Sophistication Loveseats and Corners. Add in a mix of dining chairs (Lolas or Criss Cross chairs are just a couple suggestions) and you have an inviting, yet sophisticated communal dining look.

Welcome to the Table! Well, the heat is on and summer is in full swing. We have been busy, and I am sure you have been, too! It is nice to see our industry picking up again.
We thank everyone for their cooperation with some of our new policies and procedures we have put in place over the past few months. We have all had to make some adjustments, but by working together we can make each of our jobs go off without a hitch. As always, we welcome your feed back so let us know how we can strengthen our partnership.
The Pan Mass Challenge is right around the corner. I truly can't believe the year has passed by so quickly. It has been so busy at Rentals that I haven't had a chance to even start training! July will be a heavy riding month for me. I will be riding this year in honor of my good friend Barbara Shuffain, who is battling cancer presently, in memory of my late wife, Linda, who passed away 5 years ago from Leukemia, and my daughter, Allyson, who battled breast cancer a little over a year ago and is currently 100% cancer free. I encourage you to get involved in this wonderful event; whether as a rider, a volunteer, or as a donor. Let us all join together and continue to raise needed funds to end this dreaded disease! If you would like to donate to support my ride, please click here. I thank you all in advance for your support. Every dollar donated and every volunteer in attendance helps immensely. For more information, please visit www.pmc.org.
Wishing everyone a happy and healthy summer, Larry Green

On the Move
Going Green & Hi-Tech - Check us out! This year we decided to change things up with our product catalog. Instead of printing thousands of copies, we have uploaded all the files to a USB drive that is cleverly disguised as a little green RU truck. No more fighting over the only copy of the catalog in your office! Everyone can download the information to their own computers with a quick Copy & Paste. For your viewing pleasure and a fun way to "wow" your clients, there is a Flash flip book version of the catalog and pricelist. For those who are Flash challenged (or just an iPhone or iPad user) there is also a standard PDF version that you can download. Our sales team will be coming to you with this fabulous USB drive, as well as updated (and bigger!) swatches. Schedule some time with your Account Executive today to get in on the action! _____________________ Wash, Rinse, Repeat
For those of you who have seen behind the curtain and into the inner workings of our warehouse, you know that we don't joke around with our equipment. In order to better serve you, we have invested in a state of the art dish washing system. This is the first machine of its type to be installed in the USA, and has the capability of washing over 12,000 dishes an hour. Not only is it fast, it is one of the most efficient machines on the market today. The Meiko dishwasher is manufactured in Germany, and has many fabulous ecological features. It uses 35% as much water as our prior machine, uses a fraction of the electricity, and be trouble shooted from the factory in Germany by a built in modem. Thank you to John Bibbo from Event Source in Celeveland for steering us in the right direction!
_____________________ Times They Are a Changing As you all probably know by now, we as a team try to be actively involved in our communities in both special events and the outside world. July marks the end and new beginning for many of these relationships.
Larry Green's reign as Presient of ISES New England ends this month, and he will take over the role of Immediate Past President. In other news for the New England Chapter, Kate Gold steps into the position of President Elect, and leaves behind her role of VP of Programs. Desiree Modano has been inducted as Director of Career Development for the same chapter. Extending the involvement further south is Filomena Felix, who will be the President Elect of ISES Rhode Island for the 2011 - 2012 year. Congratulations for your Board inductions to all of our volunteers. We are proud of your commitment to this industry!

Style Me by DaVeed
How did it become July already? Some how I missed May and June! So far, the summer has been a whirlwind of elaborate events, awesome alumni weekends & wonderful weddings. What is old is new again. True linen hemstitch is on it way back, maybe because of the royal wedding in Britain or the draw of natural fibers, but it is hot! We had a discussion yesterday in the office and I hope I am right and Dana is wrong... but Dana believes NEON colors are on the way back. Highlighter yellow, lime and pink! OMG! I remember in college all the girls wearing oversize neon t-shirts with matching hair bands with black leggings. And the song on the radio was a little ditty about Jack and Diane. What year was that? I am really dating myself here. PLEASE... pretty please, Design Gods, don't let us go back to those colors. Those colors are not found in nature!
Anyway, I am keeping this short & sweet this month. Hopefully by the next issue I will have reviewed the stack of design magazines by my chair at home and I will be back from a quick weekend to NYC which will revitalize ALL my senses. My crystal ball that helps me figure out up and coming trends will be more in focus and I will discover the hot new color, and maybe even before Patone declares it the color of the year! I am thinking Copper... or Concord Grape... or Peach... (Although I have been told that Peach is not a color, it is a fruit, but what do they know?)
Until next time - stay cool from the heat and from the stress. Here's wishing you have many wonderful events! - DaVeed

In The Green House
A Rentals Unlimited Royal Wedding It's a bit of a role reversal here at RU. They may not be the Prince William and Kate Middleton, but our own royalty, Dana Green, was married to Jordan Cohne on Sunday, May 29th at the Intercontinental Hotel Boston. It was a beautiful ceremony and stunning reception that allowed us to showcase our product and talents. Be sure to keep an eye out in future emails for details on where we are getting it published. In the mean time, here is a link to the video done by videographer Brett Culp for a little eye candy. Check out the link to YouTube here!

Congratulations Are in Order This year at the ISES New England Heart & Soul Awards, Kate Gold was presented with the Spirit of ISES President's Award in recognition of her service and dedication to the organization. This is her second time receiving this prestigious award, and adds to her collection along with two previous Spirit of ISES Heart & Soul Awards. _____________________
Our Family Tree is Growing
And in more ways than one! (We'll let you decide who the bad apples are!)
We are very excited to introduce a new member to our team, Jennifer Meltzer. Jennifer comes to Rentals as an Account Executive covering Rhode Island. She will be working out of the Providence and Newport showrooms. Jennifer comes to us with previous event experience from her time at Party By Design. She graduated from Salve Regina University and now lives in Newport. Jennifer is very excited to be working in the Rhode Island market and to be a part of the RU team.
And last but not least, Stephanie Solomon and her husband Jay are eagerly awaiting the arrival of their second child. Stephanie is due on July 17, but if our predictions are right, baby might be here by the time you read this.
