15th Anniversary Celebration raises more than $100,000 to Aid Families in NW Atlanta
 | | Growing Geniuses Butterfly Parade |
Last Thursday was a true celebration of the successes of the Agape Community Center. The Butterfly Parade from the Growing Geniuses elementary program kicked off the evening with a joyful performance. Their rendition of 'This Little Light of Mine' warmed the hearts of all in attendance and revealed the hope that is being shared with families through the work of Agape. Chaired by Melissa & Allen Moseley and Elsie & Jim Henderson the cocktail reception held at the Gardens at Northern Trust was the perfect evening for the 250 attendees to mingle while making a difference in the community. The Butterfly Auction was the grand finale of the event raising over $17,000 to directly impact the lives of those served by Agape.

Program Highlight:
GOGIRLGO! Visits Camp Twin Lakes - Rutledge
In early April, thirteen girls spent 3 days of their spring break on an adventure. T he main focus of the camping trip was to get the girls active; however, it was also an incredible bonding experience and growth opportunity for the girls. Activities during the retreat included swimming, canoeing, zip lining, rock climbing and volleyball. At the conclusion of each day, the girls had the opportunity to discuss highlights of the day and the skills they acquired that they will take back and incorporate into their daily routine. This retreat was made possible by the Sheila Johnson grant through the Women's Sports Foundation. |
Volunteer Highlight: Turner Media Group Volunteers Inspire Creativity in Growing Geniuses Molly Battin, Agape board member, and colleagues Jennifer Dill and Charlie Legg encouraged students in the elementary program to let their imaginations soar during their recent visit. Students were asked to create a new ad campaign for the Cartoon Network's Hall of Game Award show. The students had to come up with an ad slogan, a new celebrity host, and the guests and position a show so that other kids would want to watch it. The project gave each student the chance to create their own billboard to promote the show. Creativity abounded as the students worked together to complete their ad campaigns.
