Dr. Shiraz A. Juma and Sherbrook Animal Hospital is a new customer to the Metron Support Services Family. As an early adopter of the new EC021 product, Dr. Juma has been a great contributor to the "tweaking" needed for great x-ray images. Working with Dr. Juma, we evaluate best combinations of x-ray technique to produce maximum detail and contrast. Based in Winnipeg, Sherbrook Animal Hospital is a full-service veterinary medical facility seeking to provide the best possible medical care, surgical care and dental care for their highly-valued patients. They are committed to promoting responsible pet ownership, preventative health care and health-related educational opportunities for their clients. Dr. Juma is the owner of the practice and is a general small animal practitioner, graduating from University of Nairobi, Kenya in 1972. His special interest includes general and soft tissue surgery. Dr Juma and the staff's mission is to: provide high quality pet health and wellness services to assist the pets in living a longer, happier, and healthier life and to provide their clients with access to leading edge products and services and authoritative educational content focusing on enhancing the human animal bond. |
| Adding General Text to an Image
with Free Mark-Up

 Free Mark-Up allows you to add notes and measurements to your image. I have been asked many times how to add text within an image.   People want to add general text to the images to point out specific items on the x-ray - highlighting for themselves and others that will be viewing the image.  There are a number of other Free Mark-Up capabilities that are used in equine and small animal practices. The Cobb angle measurement is used by many equine veterinarians to evaluate the hoof. David Kolb, DVM at Lodi Veterinary Hospital, says they use it all the time to help prevent and eliminate lameness with the horses. They believe it is a very important measurement feature in all evaluations  A recent feature added is the ability to work on the current mark-up without having to click on the mark-up on the image itself. At the bottom right of the Free Mark-Up window, you are able to move between mark-ups on your image, reset the movement handle, and delete the current mark-up on the screen. Free Mark-Up just happens to be one of the many Online Training Sessions that we have produced for you and your staff to review. In case you missed in last month's addition - we are implementing a new auto upgrade program. This will automatically install new versions with a few clicks. To start this automatic program, you will need to be on version 5.26 or higher. If you are on an older version, please contact Support Services to get upgraded in order to take advantage of this new feature.
