Trigg County Home Suffers Fire Damage Thursday Evening

The basement of Todd and Tatum Gilbert's Cobb Road home caught fire Thursday and reportedly smoldered all day.  The Cerulean Volunteer Firefighters responded around 5:30 after the homeowners returned and found the power out.  When he went to check the fuse panel located in the basement, he found smoke coming from the basement and immdediately called for help.  The fire reportedly started near the dryer, but did not flame up, until the basement door was opened, because of a lack of air flow in the basement.  It resulted in extensive damage to the basement, first floor and all personal belongings.
