TCPCS Newsletter 01/27/2012

School Board Meeting - The next Board of Directors meeting will be held on February 8th beginning at 6 p.m. Please refer to the school website the Friday before all meetings to review the agenda. The public is welcome to attend.

 

Piano Player Needed -Taylor's Crossing is now offering a grade 7-12 Choral program. We currently have 65 students participating in the Choir and are very much in need of an accompanist. 

We are looking for volunteers who like playing the piano and would be interested in playing choral accompaniments for the choir.Choir meets five days a week from 2:00-3:00PM. If we have more than one volunteer, we could alternate days. If you think you would be interested, please contact Mrs.Weed.

 

PFA Fundraiser - Don't forget to get your tickets for the Valentine's Extravaganza to be held on February 10th.This is a semi-formal event for adults only with live and silent auctions, dancing and entertainment    Tickets are on sale now! To buy tickets, stop at the school office or contact Terri at 589-5300.
Doors open at 6:30 with dinner beginning at 7:00 (Choice of steak or chicken cordon bleu). $17 per individual or $30/couple or a table of 8 for $100. 


Donations Needed - We are still looking for local business owners who would like to donate items or services for our Valentine's Auction. All items donated can be claimed as a charitable donation. Please contact the Valentine's committee by Feb. 3rd at the latest to donate or if you have any questions or concerns: Terri (589-5300), Viki (520-0565) or Sarah (522-1672).

 

 High School News

High School Class Fundraiser - TCPCS metal key chains are being sold in the front office. Each key chain is $5.00. Money made from this fundraiser will go toward high school activities.

Valentines Extravaganza Needs - Gift certificates are still being accepted for the high school gift basket to be grouped in like categories and auctioned off at the event. Gift cards/certificates can be brought in to the front office or brought to one of their teachers. Thank you for all of your support for this important event!

 

High School Dance - A Sweet Heart Dance is being planned . This will be a semi-formal boy's choice and the theme is 'Night on the Red Carpet' (Old Hollywood Couples.) The cost will be $17/person or $21/couple. Look for details and the finalized date in future newsletters and announcements.

 

Senior Class Fundraiser - The recyling competition between 9th-11th grades began this week. All classes are being asked to bring in aluminum cans to be recyled. The winning class will be awarded a personalized cake to be enjoyed during their advisory class. Cans can be brought in through Wednesday, February 15th. All proceeds will go toward senoir class activities. (Please make sure all cans are rinsed out thoroughly.)

 

Elementary News

6th Grade Field Trip- On February 1st, the 6th grade class will be going on their annual field trip to Boise for the 'Capitol Day at the Legislature." This event is sponsored by the Coalition of Idaho Charter School Families. Activies will include Idaho History, Drug Awareness, a rally on the Capitol Steps, visits with elected officials and tours of other local buildings.

 

Classroom Baskets- Donations are still being accepted for the classroom baskets Please be creative and as generous as your circumstances allow. Here is the list of what each grade is doing:

Citizen of the Month Lunch - The January Citizens of the Month will be taken to lunch by Mr. Emfield this Monday, January 30th at 11 a.m. This is a fun appreciation event for these students who have shown exceptional efforts to be models of Harbor. We are so proud of all of you!

News From The Kichen

Parents Invited - The 4th and 5th grade students have planned the February lunch menu! Parents are encouraged to join their children for lunch in the cafeteria so that the students can showcase their meals. Adult purchases are $3.50 and children are $2.35.

 

New Federal Guidelines - New Federal Guidelines are beginning to take place in our nation's school cafeteria's. This will mean changes in our lunch program. For example, students will begin to be required to take either a fruit or a vegetable with their meal, and the serving size will increase from 1/2 cup to 1 cup. Please follow the newsletter to keep posted on additional improvements. If you have any questions please contact Mrs. Moore.

 

Account Balances- parents can check the school website for family account balances. If there are any charges, please update your account as soon as possible. Funds can be sent in to the school front office.
