December/2009
Child with computer

Greetings!

Every year, children anxiously and expectantly look forward to opening their holiday presents, and, in recent years, new technologies are the gifts that top children's wish lists.

While parents, grandparents and other relatives invest significant time and money on gaming devices, mobile phones and computers for their children, a critical step can be missed. The presents are wrapped with care and love, but an even more important gift, the gift of Internet safety, can be overlooked in the midst of their preparations.

Despite the many wonderful benefits of the Internet, any technology connected to the Internet also ushers in access to graphic pornography, sexual predators, cyberbullies and other dangers unless preventative safety measures are implemented.  These dangers directly threaten the emotional, physical and psychological wellbeing of our nation's children.

Enough Is Enough developed Internet Safety 101SM to educate, equip and empower parents, educators and other caring adults to protect children from threats like these.  The four-part, multi-media teaching series, DVD, workbook and website components were developed in partnership with the Department of Justice, industry partners, and with the support of friends like you.

We have made great strides, educating over 5,000 adults with Internet Safety 101SM resources, but we have more work to do and need your continued help and support.  We are currently preparing for the national launch of the Internet Safety 101SM program, which will be kicked off in a virtual press conference in January 2010.   As you consider your year-end giving and the many worthwhile charities needing your support, please remember that we are a very small organization accomplishing big goals with a mission that impacts every family and child in our country.

We have an ambitious agenda to expand our national reach and bring critical Internet Safety 101SM resources coast-to-coast to create a strong safety net of empowered adults.  In this economy with corporate and individual giving down, we need your support to make the launch a success and bring these important resources into the homes and hands of parents, educators and other caring adults nationwide.

Will you consider giving the gift of Internet safety this season?  Every gift, large or small, makes a huge difference at Enough Is Enough. We have historically accomplished much with little, therefore your dollars go a very long way.  Your partnership will enable Enough Is Enough to continue our efforts to make a lasting impact to protect children from online dangers across this country by equipping caring adults to be the first line of defense.

Here is how you can help.  Your gift of any size can help make an important difference to protect children online.  Our goal:  No Child Left Unprotected! Your generous tax-deductible donation will directly support EIE's Internet Safety 101SM initiatives and help protect tens of thousands of children around the country.

From all of us at Enough Is Enough, we wish you a safe, secure and joy-filled holiday season.

For the Sake of the Children,

Donna, Byron, Lillian, Bob and Cris

P.S.  Remember you can donate by credit card online HERE.   If sending by mail, be sure your return mail is post-marked by December 31 to receive your tax deduction in 2009.

Your contribution is greatly appreciated. Thank you for partnering with us!

2009: A Year in Review
 girl with phone

Through your support this year, EIE has made a lasting significance in the lives of children across the country. EIE continued to employ a three-pronged, preventative approach, by: (1) raising public awareness and educating the public on Internet safety; (2) advising and encouraging the technology industry to implement viable technology solutions and family-friendly corporate policies; and (3) promoting legal solutions by calling for aggressive enforcement of existing laws and enactment of new laws to stop the exploitation and victimization of our children online.

What to Expect in 2010

We have much more to do! Currently, EIE is gearing up for the national launch of the Internet Safety 101SM Program, which will be held in Washington, D.C. via a virtual press conference on UStream.  The event will highlight key Program components, showcase subject-based testimonials, and will also feature guest appearances from the Internet Safety 101SM experts.  Enough Is Enough will also be launching a social media, public relations and marketing campaign, to educate parents across the country. But we need your continued support to bring these important resources into the homes and hands of parents, educators and guardians, nationwide.
