jillroute66

This summer I was lucky enough to get my kicks on Route 66, in Santa Fe and Taos, New Mexico, in Dauphin Island, Alabama and Breckenridge, Colorado. During my travels, I was reminded that no matter where we go, how we experience the world, whatever our surroundings, comes mostly from within. You'll find delightful people in the middle of a drought-parched desert, and you'll find grumpy people in the most beautiful mountain setting you've ever seen.

(admittedly, it makes it slightly easier to have a good attitude while watching dolphins swim in the ocean or enjoying cool mountain breezes)

Never-the-less, it mostly comes down to how we choose to react to whatever life hands us. I truly believe that by making room for creative expression in my life (even if it's only for 5 or 10 minutes a day) I'm...happier...more fulfilled...healthier and more likely to be delightful rather than grumpy no matter where I am! (that means even back home in heat-wave city, Dallas, Texas!)

If you're longing to make the time and space for creative satisfaction in your life - you can do it!

How?

Grab a box of crayons and doodle. (easy...childlike...fun, and amazingly satisfying!)

Write a quick haiku.
(Three lines..5 syllables...7 syllables...5 syllables)

Sign up for a class or workshop.
(Creative Oasis or any other that sounds good!)

Try something totally new and contact me to schedule a free introductory creative coaching session to see what that feels like.

Or just give yourself five minutes to sit there and do absolutely nothing! (it may feel weird at first...but believe me...it can start to be a wonderful habit after awhile!)

Whatever you choose to do, I truly wish you all the best from my creative oasis to yours!
(no matter where that might be on any given day)

Full House at July WDSTSI Screening

Thanks so much to wonderful group of creative spirits who braved the heat to come  to the July screening of the film Who Does She Think She Is? We raised $200 for Women for Women International and enjoyed a thought-provoking discussion following the viewing. (read all about it here)
