smalltaosbeach

For my first trip of the summer I went to the beach. (yay!!!) Funny thing, our rental house sat on Taos Street, and I'll be heading to Santa Fe & Taos next week for the creative oasis known as the Mabel Dodge Luhan House and another inspiring retreat led by my mentor

Jill Badonsky.

While we're on the subject of "creative oasis" I'll leave you with this video of the clever, intelligent, and charming John Cleese who says that creating an oasis in your life is the way to create boundaries of time and space that allow you to get to your creative process.

Do you think I could get him to do a commercial for me?

How will you experience your creative oasis today?

As always, please feel free to share this with anyone you think would enjoy!

All the best from my summertime

creative oasis to yours,

Jill

(Wait...you didn't think that I really...no - it's much more fun and creative than that!)

jill's black out poem

Austin Kleon began his own brand of poetry with Newspaper Blackout. What began as a creative way to breakthrough writer's block, ended as a book and a fast-growing legion of fans. (including me!) He shared my first attempt (see link above) on his website.

suzanne with bags

After a Creative Oasis group class, a light bulb went off and Suzanne had a new career in the bag. (a funky, handmade handbag, that is!)
