Educational Meeting to Feature

Suicide Prevention Speakers

Our next educational meeting on July 21st at 7:00 P.M. will feature Brigitte Boiano, co-chair and board member of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), Cincinnati Chapter. Boiano will talk about what to do if you fear someone may take their life, the AFSP's role as an advocate for mental health initiatives, and surviving after a loss to suicide. Boiano also co-facilitates a surviving suicide loss grief support group held once a month at St. Maximillian Church in Liberty Township. Boiano will be joined by Michelle Bauer who is a board member at the AFSP and also teaches suicide intervention skills.

Our educational meetings are held at 5965 Boymel Drive in Fairfield near Receptions (same parking lot). We are in the Butler County Mental Health Board office building.

Showing of "A Beautiful Mind"
this week at Book Club

A Beautiful Mind movieOn Thursday, July 14th at 7:00 P.M. we will be showing a movie instead of discussing a book so it's a great chance to meet other book club members and find out about future book club selections (we meet every second Thursday at our Boymel Drive office). The film, which stars Russell Crowe, is the story of prodigy, John Nash, a Noble Laureate in Economics, who develops paranoid schizophrenia. You don't have to RSVP; just show up. The movie, popcorn and refreshments are all free. We hope to see you there!

Coming Soon to the NAMI Butler County Blog:  Conference Highlights and Information
