Greetings!
 We all worry about being sued from time to time. While we are so worried about compliance we often forget to keep our eyes on our most valuable assets, our employees and their contentment in the workplace.
In order to be able to spend more time on employees rather than compliance worries ensure the following:
Be sure you know state and federal employment laws that govern your business
Ensure you follow the laws....seems silly to say, but truly this is why most organizations have issues
- Feel free to question your supervisors when you see that their direction and/or advice may be contrary to what you know about compliance
Policies need to be reviewed regularly and kept up to date
- Communicate any and all changes to the policies/procedures and where need be offer training in order to ensure all understand how to apply the legal mandates
Follow policies!!!!
- Need I say more? Nothing is more risky than having policies that are not followed
Ensure due diligence, objectivity and fairness handling employees
Document, document, document
Communicate with employees clearly and regularly
