Get Your Bluegrass Fix 

 

The Bluegrass Music Alliance will be hosting their first annual Snowball, complete with a delicious dinner and live music.

 

Where:  Moose Lodge at 201 Woodbury Ave. in Martinsburg

When:   Saturday, March 10 from 6 to 10 pm (doors open at 5 pm)

Who:     Anyone who loves bluegrass music and good food

 

Doors open at 5 pm, with a delicious country buffet from 6 to 8 pm.  Live music from Drymill Road, Ernie Bradley & The Grassy Ridge, Circa Blue, and The Back Creek Valley Boys will be from 6 to 10 pm.  

 

Tickets are $15 for BMA members; $20 for non-members (price includes buffet, tea/coffee, and concert).  Cash bar will be available.

Casting for 5 male leads, 4 female leads and a large ensemble. 

 

Synopsis:  The story concerns Frederic, who was apprenticed to a band of pirates due to a misunderstanding on the part of his nurse, is released from his apprenticeship. He meets Mabel, the daughter of Major-General Stanley, and the two young people fall instantly in love. Frederic finds out, however, due to a technicality, his apprenticeship is not actually complete. Bound by his own sense of duty, Frederic's only solace is that Mabel agrees to wait for him faithfully.

Please come prepared to sing. You may provide an accompaniment CD or an accompanist will be provided. Wear comfortable clothing for a dance audition. Those auditioning for lead roles may be asked to do cold readings from the script. Please bring all rehearsal conflict information to the auditions.

Youth Art Month Begins March 11

A beloved annual event, the Youth Art exhibit highlights an array of talented artists from Berkeley County High Schools while celebrating the arts in March throughout our country.  The opening reception for Youth Art Month will be Sunday, March 11 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm and the exhibit will run through April 7. 

 

The Arts Centre is a community based arts organization offering educational programs, exhibits, and events throughout the year.  Visit www.TheArtCentre.org for more information and exhibit hours.

The Eastern Panhandle Home Builders Association (EPHBA) is comprised of builders, developers, product suppliers and service providers related to the home building industry.  The association works to improve the quality of life in Berkeley, Jefferson and Morgan Counties through the promotion of economic growth, responsible land development, quality construction practices and reasonable regulations.
