Enjoy a Concert in the Park
The concert series in War Memorial Park will continue tonight at 7 pm with Stoney Creek Bluegrass Band. Described by Bluegrass Unlimited, as "mainstream bluegrass at its best," Stoney Creek features guitarist Ed Barney, banjo player Darrell Sanders, Brett Smeltzer on mandolin, and bassist Libby Files. The band has shared the stage with artists such as Loretta Lynn, Ronnie Reno, and IBMA favorites Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper. Stoney Creek's new album, Live in Concert, premiered this past Tuesday on WAMU's Bluegrass Country with Country Music DJ Hall of Famer Tom "Cat" Reeder.
Next week on August 4, enjoy the United States Army Field Band "Volunteers" playing pop, country and light jazz. The Concert in the Park series is hosted by Martinsburg-Berkeley County Parks & Recreation and sponsored by United Commercial Travelers of America and Chick-Fil-A in Martinsburg. Berkeley County Youth Fair
The 64th annual Berkeley County Youth Fair kicks off this weekend! A week-long event, the Youth Fair will feature fun activities for the whole family, including:
- Livestock exhibits and competitions
- Truck and tractor pull
- Carnival and amusement rides
- Concert with country star James Wesley
- Bull riding
- Figure Eight Derby
- Concert with Homestead Band
- Demolition Derby
