A Weekend Full of Fun
Get out of the house this weekend and come to Martinsburg, where you will find plenty of fun for the entire family!
Dad will enjoy the 16th annual Home Show at the Martinsburg Mall, featuring hundreds of exhibitors and displays for all of your indoor and outdoor home improvement needs. Sponsored by the Eastern Panhandle Home Builders Association, the Home Show hours are Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 9 pm and Sunday from noon to 6 pm.
Mom would love to see the Apollo Civic Theatre's comedic production of Arsenic & Old Lace. Show times are Friday and Saturday at 8 pm, with a matinee performance on Sunday at 2:30 pm. (Don't worry if you miss it this weekend ... the show will go on next weekend too!)
And we haven't forgotten the kids, who will love to sing and dance with Tony Martirano and Friends at his CD Release Show. This free show will be held Saturday from 2 to 3:30 pm at the Apollo Civic Theatre. Donations will be accepted at the door, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting Jessica Rocks.
Round out the weekend with a little free entertainment at the Train Station, as the Eastern Panhandle Bluegrass Association hosts their weekly jam session on Sunday from 4 to 7 pm. Bring your instrument and join in, or just sit back and listen.
Enjoy your weekend! |
Pickin' Preview in Review
Nearly 250 people braved the cold and rain this past Saturday to come to the Apollo and listen to some terrific bluegrass music at the Pickin' Preview. Circa Blue, Back Creek Valley Boys, and Junior Sisk and Ramblers Choice all played awesome sets, helping the CVB to raise over $2,300 for the Eastern Panhandle Bluegrass Association and the Apollo Civic Theatre. A special thanks to the bands for creating such a phenomenal evening and to all who worked hard to make this event possible. Visit us on Facebook for event photos (while you're there, go ahead and 'like" us!)
Visit www.PanhandlePickin.com for more info about the 2011 festival. Also keep an eye out for the second Pickin' Preview, coming this summer! |
