Celebrating the Arts

March is National Youth Art Month.  To celebrate, The Arts Centre will present a Youth Art Month Exhibit, featuring work from rising stars in the Berkeley County High School arts programs.  The exhibit will be unveiled at an opening reception on Sunday, March 6 from 1 to 3 pm and will be open to the public through Friday, April 1 (Tues-Fri from 11-4; Sat from 12-4) at The Arts Centre, 300 West King Street in downtown Martinsburg.  Sponsored by City National Bank, this event is free and donations are gratefully accepted.  Visit their website for more information.

 

The Youth Art Month celebration continues with Main Street Martinsburg's Snowman Spectacular Auction on the steps of The Arts Centre, immediately following the opening reception on March 6. Twenty-nine snowmen that have been displayed throughout downtown Martinsburg this Winter will be auctioned. 

 

The Berkeley Arts Council will host an Arts Expo on Saturday, March 19 at the Martinsburg Mall.  From 11 am to 3 pm, visitors will enjoy demonstrations, live musical and theater performances, mini-workshops with a variety of artisans, an instrument "petting zoo" and exhibits and workshops hosted by local arts organizations.  For more information, visit the Berkeley Arts Council website

 

Re-New Your Home at the Home Show

Just in time to help with your Spring to-do list, the Eastern Panhandle Home Builders Association will present their 16th Annual Home Show on March 11 - 13 at the Martinsburg Mall.  With over 160 vendors and displays, you can learn more about building, remodeling and redecorating.  Exhibitors include everything from contractors to financing to decorating.

 

Home Show hours are:

  • Friday, March 11 from 10 am to 9 pm
  • Saturday March 12 from 10 am to 9 pm
  • Sunday, March 13 from 12 pm to 6 pm

Supporting the cultural vitality of the Eastern Panhandle, the Berkeley Arts Council strives to ensure that our artistic community provides a rich cultural life for our residents, attracts tourists to our area, and provides income and jobs for artists and artisans.
