Enjoy the Arts in Berkeley County
The Berkeley Arts Council is celebrating their first year of building the arts environment throughout the county.  Join them at the Apollo Civic Theatre on Thursday, October 7 from 5 to 8 pm for a mixer where you can meet artists, view their work, learn about the Arts Council and how you can support their efforts.  Light refreshments and live entertainment, featuring local band 7DC, will be provided.  For more information about this and other arts events in the area, visit www.BerkeleyArtsWV.org.

ArtBerkeley, Inc. a non-profit membership organization of artists based in Martinsburg, will host their Fall 2010 exhibition in the second floor of the Dunn Building (400 W. Stephen Street).  An opening reception will be held on Saturday, October 9 from 1 to 4 pm.  The artwork, including paintings, photographs and other art created by members of ArtBerkeley, will be on display until Saturday, October 30.  The reception and exhibit are free and open to the public.  Visit www.ArtBerkeley.org to learn more.

Each year the Inwood Farmers' Market and the West Virginia Department of Agriculture feature a Holiday Open House with samplings, gifts, souvenirs, WV value-added food products, local produce, meats, dairy products and more.   This year, they are opening the entire market and warehouse space for WV artisan demonstrations, direct selling of merchandise and WV winery owners to conduct wine tastings. The WVDA, in cooperation with Tamarack, is now accepting applications for WV artisans to participate in this event, which will be held December 3-4 at The Shops at Inwood Farmers' Market.  Applications must be submitted by October 15 and selected vendors will be notified in early November.  For more information, please contact dwoodrum@ag.state.wv.us or call the WVDA Marketing & Development Division (304) 558-2210.
