This Week at the Columbus County Community Farmers Market
September 14-19, 2009 |
Dear ,
Welcome to this edition of our Columbus County Community Farmers Market E-newsletter.
As we transition from summer to fall, our Tuesday and Thursday market days are beginning to have limited offerings. We still have a large number of Saturday vendors with lots of late season produce (see list under What's Available below).
 September is National Honey Month!
Columbus County and our surrounding areas are fortunate to have a strong beekeeper organization - the Columbus County Beekeepers Association. They do a great job educating the public about bees, beekeeping, pollination, and honey production. Local honey and honey-based soaps, lip balm, etc. can be found at the Columbus County Farmers Market on a regular basis.
For more information about honey including free recipes, health advantages of honey, children's activities or to subscribe to a monthly e-newsletter about honey, visit the National Honey Board website at www.honey.com. |
