This Week at the Columbus County Community Farmers Market

September 7-12, 2009

Dear ,

Welcome to this edition of our Columbus County Community Farmers Market E-newsletter.

Fall PieIt is beginning to feel like fall - cooler weather and crisp air!  That means many of the summer fruits and vegetables are giving way to fall crops!  Continue to stop by the Farmers Market for late season produce!

HoneySeptember is National Honey Month!

Columbus County and our surrounding areas are fortunate to have a strong beekeeper organization - the Columbus County Beekeepers Association.  They do a great job educating the public about bees, beekeeping, pollination, and honey production.  Local honey and honey-based soaps, lip balm, etc. can be found at the Columbus County Farmers Market on a regular basis.

For more information about honey including free recipes, health advantages of honey, children's activities or to subscribe to a monthly e-newsletter about honey, visit the National Honey Board website at www.honey.com.
