Stepping Up Effort for Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive
Saturday, May 12 will be here before we know it! Last year 233,900 pounds of food were donated to the Associated Churches Neighborhood Food Network!
This year, more than ever, we need people to spread the word to neighbors, friends, and fellow church members about the collection so more food will be donated. With increased demand, the food just simply isn't lasting as long as it once did.
 | Watch the video to see how you can help!
If you attend a congregation with the appropriate technology, perhaps you'll consider sharing the video with your members as part of your worship service or on facebook!
|
As always we are gathering names of those who want to volunteer the day of the event and in the weeks to follow to help sort and box food. For more information, call Jim at 422-3528 x 106 or by email.

Food will be collected at the Tin Caps game on Sunday, April 29, 3:05 P.M. for the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive.
Help your commUNITY!

Parenting Classes Blessing Many
Already over 70 parents from eight schools are graduating from the STEP (Systematic Training for Effective Parenting) classes this week! This will bring the total for the school year to over 150 graduates.
During the course of the program, families have been served a free meal at every session and offered free childcare at the schools. Upon completing the four session class, parents will receive a graduation certificate, $20 gift cards, and a box of food.
Most importantly, though, is the information that is taught by facilitators and shared with one another as they cover the following topics:
- Understanding Yourself and Your Child
- Understanding Beliefs and Feelings
- Encouraging Your Child and Yourself
- Developing the Courage to be Imperfect
- Listening and Talking to Your Child
- Helping Children Cooperate
- Discipline That Makes Sense
- Choosing Your Approach
If you would like to provide financial sponsorship for the STEP Parenting Classes to insure their continuation, contact Sarah Deans Adams at 422-3528x104 or by email.
