Gersh Academy is dedicated to creating a dynamic partnership among home, school and community. Our team understands, accepts and supports children by teaching them the way they learn. Our goal is to develop the whole child and teach him/her skills for everyday life. We provide a nurturing environment that allows students the opportunity to reach their full potential academically, socially and emotionally.

Dear Parents,
At Gersh Academy our purpose is to help our children and young adults with Neurobiological Disorders reach their full academic, social and emotional potential. Building a strong, consistent communication bridge between our student's homes, schools and communities is essential to their development. In effort to cultivate this partnership Gersh Academy has created an interactive online venue for students, teachers and parents to join forces and work on our common goal; to facilitate successful and independent lives for our students and their families.
We hope you enjoy our monthly newsletter where we will share some of our proudest moments conveyed in our student's hard work and accomplishments. We will keep you posted on upcoming events, current research in Neurobiological Disorders and other related news. We will also be asking parents to get involved in the newsletter by sharing helpful ideas, tips and suggestions that may be useful to our community.
We are proud to announce the launching of the new Gersh Academy website. www.GershAcademy.org offers information on Gersh Academy policies, locations, curriculum etc. We hope the site helps you in managing your day-to-day bumps in the road as well as the more difficult mountains we sometimes have to climb when raising a child with a Neurobiological Disorder.  The Gersh Academy Hauppauge campus is dedicated to our I Am I Can Middle School and High School students. The I Am I Can Program is a full day, 12 month special education program designed for students with High Functioning Autism and related Neurobiological Disorders (NBD) which include, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Tourette's Syndrome, Asperger's Syndrome, Childhood-Onset Bipolar Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Anxiety Disorder and Depression.  Gersh Academy in Glen Oaks, NY is dedicated to their elementary, middle school and high school I Am I Can and BASE students. BASE (Behavioral, Academic & Social Enrichment) is a program which utilizes Applied Behavior Analysis methodology for children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders, ages 6 - 21.
