Greetings in Christ!

My name is Josh Humberger, leader of SEND North America. SEND stands for
Servants Equipping New Disciples. We are pleased to announce that we have just finished our first year doing this exciting, pioneering ministry with some great young adults. SEND is a 10-month discipleship training and immersion process and we are now recruiting for this fall's SEND unit, starting in September. Throughout the summer I will do my best to send updates and news. Thank you for prayer and financial support. In this month's newsletter, please read my blog below and please share this ministry with others, especially a 20-year-old searching for purpose and looking for God's plan for their life. Grace, Mercy, and Peace to you!

Celebrate good times...Come On!

June 1, 2012: Destiny Family of Faith, Kendallville, IN - graduation of our first SEND unit, nicknamed "The G-Squad."  It was a great evening of celebration and gratitude.  All families, supporters, teachers, mentors, friends, and mission partners were there.  After playing a video that highlighted our 10-month journey of ministry and mission, I stepped up to the mic.  As I looked at "The G-Squad," I got chocked up. What an emotion-filled evening.  We had done so much together.  We had been so challenged and grown so much. We had so much to process. We had become a family for life. We had all become missionaries for Christ in this dark world...deep breath...wow, what an adventure...

It has been an honor and privilege to have served you. Be strong.  Be courageous. Always pray. Always read the Word. Always seek the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Always practice Matthew 18.  Always be looking for a "person of peace."  Make disciples.  Be a missionary - everywhere.  Be salt.  Be light. Always do life with Jesus. And now, to quote the book of John, chapter 20, verse 21, "As the Father has sent me, so also I SEND you."  God speed!

Many blessings to all who made this first year of SEND a great success.  As with any pioneering ministry, there were many unanswered questions and challenges.  We thank God for giving us the privilege to start this ministry and to serve.  We thank everyone for their support and all the hard work of our staff, teachers, churches, families, and folks we did missions with.  We also thank St. Thomas' Church in Sheffield, England.  FORM is what gave us the inspiration and go-ahead to try this unique immersion process for 20-somethings, to help them discover God's plan for their life, experience ministry, worship, and mission in ways they never have.  And the biggie: to invest their life for nearly a year and do life with Jesus.  Well? It works! Thank you Ashley, Elizabeth, Tim, Nick, and Ray. You five are going to do mighty works for the Kingdom here on earth.  We can't wait to see your fruit and see where the Lord leads you.

And here we are - getting ready for summer and, in just a few short months, starting our next year of SEND.  As we make disciples and modern-day missionaries, we can't do it alone.  It is such a huge team effort, and we thank everyone past, present, and future for staying connected with us and joining us on this incredible ride. Over the next couple of months, we will be putting together our next unit.  Do you know a 20-something who could benefit from SEND?  I promise you, they will be forever changed and will find purpose in being a Christ-follower for the rest of their lives.  Please SEND them to us! You can call our office at 800.626.8515, send an email to Joshua@churchdoctor.org, join our Facebook page, or feel free to connect with our website at sendnorthamerica.com.

Also, feel free to join us at an upcoming Compass Event to learn all about SEND. All Compass Events are free and open to the public.  Please mark these dates and locations on the left of this page. You can also register online via our website or by calling 1.800.626.8515.

Have a great summer everyone!  Hope to hear from you or see you soon!

Peace!

Laus Deo,
