Amendment to the City of San Francisco's Health Care Security Ordinance (HCSO)

 

San Francisco businesses should take notice of the recently amended Health Care Security Ordinance (HCSO).  The Ordinance defines "Covered Employers" as businesses engaging in business within the City and required to obtain a valid San Francisco business registration certificate. This includes businesses with 20 or more employees and nonprofit organizations with 50 or more employees.

 

Capitol BuildingOn December 23, 2011, San Francisco's Office of Labor Standards Enforcement (OLSE) released FAQs which focus on the recently enacted amendment to Healthy San Francisco (HCSO) creating the partial non-forfeitability of employer contributions to Health Reimbursement Arrangements (HRAs).

 

The purpose of this 'Compliance Alert' is to provide a summary of the amendment & new Employer responsibilities - please review and if you have questions, we ask that you engage your MacCorkle representative.
