Help A Woman's Place, Help Yourself, Volunteer!

As you and I both know, in the current job market every little bit helps. Volunteer experience and accomplishments can put a little shine on your resume and provide that little something that pulls you out of a crowd. Taking that skill and generous gift of your time and presenting it in the appropriate business light is important - whether you are a first-time job hunter or searching after a layoff.

Varied volunteer opportunities at A Woman's Place  (AWP) offer you the opportunity to grow and develop numerous skills.

Volunteer HandsOn the first Monday of each month, volunteers gather at AWP  for "surprise" activities. These evenings are just as much about building community as they are about helping AWP . Volunteers come together, enjoy dinner, and get to know each other and AWP  a little bit better while helping to complete some much needed task for the organization.

In addition to filling a need that AWP has identified, some volunteers have taken their own passions and enhanced them by adding an element that benefits the organization and the community it serves. Avid biker and active volunteer Mike Garvey did just that with Biking for Bucks County . He combined his volunteerism and his competitive cycling to help AWP - and invited the community to join him.

Whether you have a few minutes or a few hours, a concept in mind or just want to help - AWP needs you. Volunteers are the lifeblood of this organization and the foundation on which it has been built these 35 years. Help A Woman's Place, Help Yourself, Volunteer!
