| A Special Message from the Executive Director |
|
In this season of thanks, I am reminded of your generosity and the generosity of this community. Each of you is overwhelmingly giving and I, the staff, and the victims of domestic violence that we serve are very thankful. The contributions of food, clothing, paper products, gift cards, stock, and check and credit card donations are all incredibly valuable and help make this season one of celebration for so many. 2009 has been an interesting year for A Woman's Place. We faced financial challenges unlike any that we had seen before. This was not a surprising consequence of the financial upheaval that we all experienced as a community, nation, and world. A Woman's Place also faced an increased demand for services - an 11.1% increase over the prior year in domestic violence victims served. The need has been and continues to be high! During this season, I express my profound gratitude for your ongoing support and financial contributions. I also appeal to you to remember the need in our community and that now more than ever, we must remain steadfast in our commitment to building a society in which all individuals are safe in their relationships and have the space to thrive and develop to their full potential. I appeal to you to please send in your much needed and valuable contributions. Please, click here to make a financial gift today. I thank you, in advance, for your support and generosity. On behalf of our staff, volunteers, and the families that you help with each dollar contributed, we thank you. Gratefully yours, Donna J. Byrne |
