Call for Volunteers

Volunteers are indispensable parts of A Woman's Place (AWP), as part of our organization, work, and success. AWPoffers a number of diverse and enriching volunteer experiences for teens and adults. As the only domestic violence organization in Bucks County, Pa., AWP provides comprehensive free, private, and confidential service, support, education, outreach, and advocacy to victims of domestic abuse and violence and their children and the community.

Being a part of the AWP community is a great way to support individuals and families experiencing domestic abuse and violence through direct service work such as answering hotline or providing court accompaniment. It is also a great way to work towards increased community awareness, safety and organizational support through indirect services such as education and training, and fundraising activities, all while learning, meeting new people, and watching the knowledge that you have truly make a difference. Flexible volunteer hours and varied opportunities are available. Will you come and be a part of our team?

The following two direct service volunteer training sessions (40 hours each) will be offered:

Session 1 - 9am - 1pm

May 11 - 15
May 18 - 20
May 26 & 27

Session 2 - 6pm - 9pm

May 12 & 14
May 19 & 21
May 26 & 28
June 2, 4 & 6  (Saturday session from 9am - 1pm)
June 9 & 11
June 16 & 18

To register for one of these sessions, or to find out more about training to volunteer in education & training or fundraising, please contact Mary Sonke at 215.343.9241 x 112 or via
