Employment Opportunity at the Chamber

Greetings!

Growth is wonderful!  Every business wants to grow but growth brings challenges.

We are seeing some significant growth trends in the Chamber - new memberships, successful events, expanding influence.  But in order to meet these growth demands we need to expand our staff in a key area.  We need an EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT to help keep the growth trend continuing!

At this time we are hoping to find the right person who would be interested in working 30 hours per week, expanding to full time as circumstances warrant.  Working in the Chamber is EXCITING and never boring!  You are privileged to work with some amazing people and are involved in things that MAKE A DIFFERENCE in Davis County.

Here is part of the job description for this position:

  • Prepare Agendas and take Minutes for all Chamber-level meetings.
  • Coordinate content of the Weekly Newsletter.
  • Control all Chamber communications.
  • Assist in organizing programs for  Board of Governor meetings.
  • Proactively prepare Press Releases.
  • Maintain the Chamber calendar.
  • Responsible for details of event/committee planning.
  • Coordinate the outreach calendar for Chamber President.
  • Maintain a Chamber History in Davis County.
  • And more!

The successful candidate will have Executive Assistant experience at a commensurate level.  The position requires a high level of proficiency in computer programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and more, including the ability to learn internal software systems.  Strong language skills are a must, both written and verbal. This person will need to work cooperatively in a small office  environment and must be able to multi-task at a high level without diminishing output in an environment of deadlines, timelines, and performance pressure.  Perhaps most importantly, this person will enjoy the opportunity of working with a varied client base (including Board members, Chamber members, prospects, political leaders, governmental agencies, etc.) with a positive attitude and pleasant personality.  Please note that this position requires occasional flexibility in schedule to assist in various events, activities, and committees.

Wow!!  I can hardly wait to meet this amazing person!

You Chamber members are my best resource for finding the right person.  We found Angie from a referral from a Chamber member (thanks again Kym!) and I know that there is someone else just like her that wants to join our team.  Yes, we will post this position in the usual places but I continue to think a referral from you will yield the best results.

Please send resumes to me at daviscc@davischamberofcommerce.com.  I anticipate that we will have a lot of candidates so please be patient.  We would like to have this person in place before the end of February.

Thanks for all you do for the Chamber.  Jim
